Re: Gotek external or floppy (mech) external

I'd really recommend you to upgrade your GOTEK with the OLED display and rotary encoder and forget about the AUTOBOOT.HFE.

Re: A/B drive swap switch

I'm only cutting a bridge between jumpers, not really a trace.

Re: Scart to HDMI Converter

I have tested two of these converters (along with a HDMI to VGA converter). One mentioned here is number 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y1fA_pYrU0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVmB_peH24M I've more liked number one and this one I've kept, the other one I've sold. Number 1 doesn't do as much ...

Re: A/B drive swap switch

It is possible for STf and STe and I have described it here: Drive swap on STe without cutting pins/tracks.

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

If you have any problem with connecting the flasher with the STM32 on Gotek, you may reduce the UART speed to 57600bps. It is also better to provide more reliable power source to the Gotek than 5V output from the USB-RS232 converter board. Oh... one more thing - stay tuned for FlashFloppy v0.9.7a as...

no-software internal RTC

This is just an idea in my mind. No actions have been taken to implement it yet. I really don't like RTC mods for Atari ST presented over the Internet for requiring an additional software. ST does have an RTC, the only problem is that it is not backed-up. The RTC is in the keyboard. Keyboard communi...

Re: ST RTC EXTERNAL BETA - WIP

You can battery backup the keyboard, have seen it done. But is rather power hungry to power the keyboard chip. That's why I was thinking rather about a pass-through device connected between keyboard and motherboard, that would set the RTC in the keyboard from the modern DS-1307 battery backed-up RT...

Re: ST RTC EXTERNAL BETA - WIP

Coding itself is a problem? Because you may just wire the parallel (E)EPROM to the ROM port and basically that is all. Also - the Atari ST actually has the RTC, but it doesn't have the battery backup. As far as I remember the keyboard controller is responsible for providing the RTC functionality. It...

Re: ST RTC EXTERNAL BETA - WIP

Would it be possible to put the EEPROM on the board which would contain the drivers/accessory for the RTC?
