18 wires were used on a "short" ST, in order to route JOY/MOUSE port signals to the connectors on the mainboard. All later models had these connectors on the keyboard PCB.

Every ST (short) and STf/m/e and Falcon keyboard has a \RESET line wired...

Each FDD/Gotek should be internally set to ID0 (DS0) in order to work correctly. The ID change is done between IN and OUT ports of the SF314.

Atari STE doesn't have a true Composite Sync signal, instead it generates Composite Video. This may make troubles with some framedoublers. Only SECAM (French) STEs don't have TV out, and have a clean Composite Sync.

On FF name of selected image is scrolled when there is no drive activity. During folder navigation - after some time of inactivity (by default 0,3 s). You can configure this, by editing FF.CFG.

These HP weren't bad at their times... but today they may need more troubleshooting than computers you want to troubleshoot with them. They use Dallas battery backed up NVRAM modules to store calibration data. Today batteries are good past EOL date, and are non-replaceable. So I'd suggest going into...
