Re: ST SHIFTER operation ?

Cannot believe this.. I have used 138 macrocells already. The maximum I can have with this series of chip is 160.. Considering I have yet to do the pallet look up registers, and the programming registers, I'm going to need way more than 160 I think  Capture.JPG EDIT: Looks like there must be s...

Re: ST SHIFTER operation ?

Sorry for the lo-res shot, the file export to JPEG keep ending up corrupted I don't know why :( so I had to do a screenshot  This is ball pretty simple. As before there is a one of four selector which selects one of the four banks of latches. The load signal latches the data in the latch only ...

MSTE PSU RE-CAP FAIL

I had this power supply sent in for repair as after it was recapped , it failed to function correctly. Upon arrival I saw that the capacitor legs were not particularly cut short enough and was sticking out a few millimetres. They did not short out on the metalwork case, but it is something to bear i...

Re: How to: recapping the Mega STe power supply

Although a bit over my head I vaguely understand what you're saying: that components interact with each other. I suggest you contact Czietz and ask about the details. I will investigate it when I get chance anyway. It looks like you will have to wait until I get one of the power supplies which I ha...

Re: Arcing in Mega STe PSU

Yes I have the switches.

I think it is switches start getting stiff to switch or sound like they are arcing internally, then they should be changed. I the rest of the power supply they are 30 years old. And I am not convinced they were that good from new

Re: Arcing in Mega STe PSU

Okay so the power supplies I have for a different model number I think... PSM-8012-2 I guess in a way this is good as I have a new power supply to fiddle around with some point :) IMG_1914.JPG IMG_1915.JPG In any case, you can see the insulation sheet on this one anyway. The PCB does seem to fit hig...

Re: Arcing in Mega STe PSU

I don't know. There wasn't one on mine (I bought the computer 2nd hand so I can't say if there ever was one to begin with). Are you saying the arcing is a common thing and not a fault? I have some transparent plastic overhead sheets -perhaps I could use one or two of those layered, or are we talkin...

Re: Arcing in Mega STe PSU

Shouldn't there be a plastic sheet between the PCB and metalwork ?
