Re: Floppy drive issues

Have you tried cleaning the drive heads ? viewtopic.php?f=17&t=96

Floppy drives and also failed if the PSU is going bad.

You can use the drives in my store, don't need the HD6 kit unless you are wanting to use 1.44 floppys.

IC deterioration

The first time I saw this problem some months ago when testing a hard drive.. When the hard drive was connected, the floppy drive and intermittently say it was write protected. When the hard drive was removed the problem went away. But during my testing yesterday problem still persisted when the har...

Re: Write protect on floppy ?!

So after much investigation.. It seems a 45R resistor in series with RDY pin seems to solve the problems.. This is the R303 side... r452.png and after the 45R (on DMA pin 38) r45.png Now the only difference seems to be less undershoot (but this is random anyway), BUT, like other problems I've seen w...

Would it be worth trying a HC processor to see if it behaves differently?
It has one :) But behaves the same with the original..

Write protect on floppy ?!

When I try and write to the floppy, TOS says its write protected, but its not.. I've checked pin 25 of the WS1772, and it is high all the time as expected.. but what else can cause TOS to behave like that ?! I am using a STE, TOS206.. I had a guy having similar issues a few months ago, I am not sure...

Re: USB Audio Interface

Well, rule 1 is never connect equipment together with the power on.. That's how I fried my Falcon :(.. As a floating earth will come into contact with a gnd ref earth and you end up with a voltage spike which kills stuff. Once all the gnds connected, things are generally happy. If you use good solid...

Tapes are quite cheap, you can order them pre printed in small enough batches. But I'd be happy with a single tape, hand signed by the artist :-P
Might add 1p more value signed!

Re: STE V1.5 32MHz BOOSTER - STATUS

I bought a few 1.27mm headers but I must confess that they fit just as "badly" IMHO with or without the dummy CPU. Of course, I don't really know what a "good fit" should be like ... maybe I should just send you a dummy? :) When you insert the pins, the socket tabs get pushed out a fraction.. the s...

Re: Strange TOS 1.04 Issue

The files are correct.. I would check you have not got a bent pin, as it can happen easily without noticing.. Also clean the pins on the chips with IPA. Is possible the PSU could be failing so if you can power the board from a benchtop PSU and it will help to rule that out.. Speed and brand of ROM c...

Can you post the ROM files you are trying and I will take a look at them..
