Re: THE RETROBRIGHT EXPERIENCE.

Sounds like the problems I had. I tried liquid peroxide last year. I tried a mouse in a small bath of it, left it in direct sunlight, it did go a little lighter, but not much.. I will try and find the images tomorrow. It did not seem like leaving for longer did anything. But some people said leaving...

Re: unknown ST Overscan circuit with 7400

Hi I scanned the article. It states even 840x568 pixels. But usually set to 800x500. The monitor being the limiting factor. On this link you can get the scan: http://gkess.homeip.net/~georges/hyperscreen-stmagazin.zip (72MB) Georges Awesome  I don't read german but a lot of guys here do :) ...

Re: Scope recommendation

I know Rodolphe uses a expensive USB version, can't say what that is like. Though I know there are cheap versions about which either do not work properly, or the software is unstable. Dave Jones has a good video on scope "ins and outs". Basically all the cheaper scopes, mostly USB ones claim fantast...

Re: THE RETROBRIGHT EXPERIENCE.

Fantastic :bravo:

Did you have any problems with evenly coating or "blooming"?

Take a image again in 6 months time as well. Most say the discoloration comes back after a while.

I was just browsing through some photos, and found this one... I really don't have to much pictures of our second one, Goliath. She (yes, SHE ;) ) is quite hard to photograph because she is black...

Re: unknown ST Overscan circuit with 7400

Here is the GB6 result. Reference is the previous bench I did without LaceScan. Notice the resolutions. Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be a speed penalty. Although unsurprisingly now that you think about it. Awesome thanks :) Yeah I guess the frame still has to be drawn even if its just white b...

Re: Help for eBay/PayPal users AKA WhyeBaySucks.info

Banner looks familiar ;) Normally this may be classed as off topic , but as I hate eBay and PayPal then it can stay ;) Still can't believe companies can operate so badly and not break any laws. I mean eBay's work ethics are strangle the sellers some more.. Oh and punish the sellers for eBay's own fa...

Re: Old Computer Mag Search Engine

I've not heard of Apache Solr.. sounds like its built for this stuff. I do remember years ago I did a search system (cant remember what for), was in VB6, It was really slow, so I asked in the groups, a few people wrote methods and it was really interesting. But basically what the best one was, was w...

Re: Old Computer Mag Search Engine

Yes, it definately would, but I am not insane and try ;) My two options of OCRing are Abby Finereader and Tesseract. Even with the smaller ST Format issue I have recognition rates about 99%. This is absolutely sufficient for a full text search. The whole process for this issue (100 pages) took roug...

Re: Old Computer Mag Search Engine

Interesting idea :) I know it would be useful when hunting for info. I did considering it some years ago, but the OCR got that confused, and was so many mistakes I gave up in the end. Though if you can do it for mags like STF which are online, then that would be really cool. Though a huge amount of ...
