Re: MNT VA2000 graphics card in a Mega ST

Really interesting stuff :bravo: /DTACK with the clock domain crossing can be more complicated than it seems.. The problem with /DTACK with a lot of the Atari chips is that it can arrive at any time, but, it generally arrives a fraction too early before the data is actually ready to read. In terms o...

Also, which pin has the positive lead from the capacitor?
100nF-220nF most likely going to be ceramics, or should be, so it does not matter of which way around it goes on.

Re: V2.6 under design.

So my test machine was turned off all of yesterday and I turned it on this morning and it booted right up. Where they crashed after a few seconds in memory test. Rebooting the machine went as before a right effort.. Basically a lot of the time just garbage on the screen. As a start I put the booster...

Re: Motherboard capacitors - which to replace?

As there was a 1uf timing capacitor on the PSU that you recommend NOT be changed, I thought that there may be similar ones on the motherboard that if changed may cause issues? Its a good point.. I haven't of course looked into every capacitor on the motherboard, but I do not believe it would cause ...

Re: Motherboard capacitors - which to replace?

As far as I got is the video re-cap kit on the STFM.. Any electrolytics should be replaced. I did wonder about designing small adapter pcbs for all caps (kinda like my 4,700 kit) but using SMT caps.. but its a lot of kits to mash up... plus I doubt there will be many users still in the next 30 years...

Hi Chris
Just wondering what voltage the capacitor was you used? Would 220nf 35v work?
Its 5V rail, so anything over 10V is good.
