Re: Ordering the Alpha board

Cool, looking forward to receiving them.

Will you be listing the parts kits on your store like the boards?

Don't work too hard sorting the parts, I still need to dismantle the donor board and then find a falcon ram board before I get mine done.

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

If I was you I'd use the print your own option. I'd bet that that bracket would take between 5 to 10 hours to print for each one. Trying not to be a killjoy but at the same time being honest. I can give you an estimate of print time and cost by loading the .stl into Cura? And when my workshop is no ...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

Good question but maybe I have the answer to that? You can bend acrylic sheet with a hot air gun, or as previously thought, we could 3d print the brackets for the switch and socket, which would be quicker and cheaper to print?

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

I can't help but think this would be better as a perspex sheet with floppy like spacers added where it would mount to the case and then to the power supply.

If you do 3d print it, I'd probably turn it upside down, will save on the amount of printed support needed.

Re: Part kits

And you said you didn't like soldering any more :D

When you put the list like that, it brings home how much work is involved in planning, let alone building the board.

Well done for putting it all together. Just let me know when and how to pay you.

Re: competent repair people ?

It's a similar situation for myself with work I'm 48 and the average age of engineers in the steam industry now is about 60, so we are struggling to get new blood into the industry. I guess you are a victim of your own success. The trouble is that anyone can fix a modern pc by changing a graphics ca...
