Practical TT upgrade?

Ok, with discussion recently about the practicalities (or lack of) of a TT accelerator, perhaps a different approach could be tackled.. As a software programmer, I would like to take full advantage of as many projects as possible when coding for the Atari systems. Unfortunately, the more diverse the...

Re: You have got to be kidding me - c64 on ebay

I used to be a hardcore carbooter up to about 5 years ago. I picked up some great bargains over that time. Once bloody ebay took off and we started getting this crazy bidding stupidity I stopped going, as it wasnt fun any more. Along with everyone checking the boot sale stuff from their smartphones ...

Re: DIY TT Booster?

Thanks for the clarification RPineau.

Not having studies VME in great detail, I had a feeling there was something like that being the reason no-one had done anything other than the CaTTemaran thing.

Oh well, heres hoping Tuxie can come up with something elegant

Re: DIY TT Booster?

@Tuxie: Damn. I thought the VMEBus would have made this sort of thing much easier. :(

Is there some major show stopper missing from VMEBus specification then?

Re: competent repair people ?

I have to actually scale down. After 13 years of trying, my wife and I are finally having a baby girl. IVF was what it took. 1.1.2019 should be the day. So full time IT work at a huge insurance company doesn't leave much free time for anything else so something has to give, at least in the beginnin...

DIY TT Booster?

Im not really an Atari hardware guru, so forgive my ignorance of the subject if I am totally off but... Is the older TT CPU daughterboard not a VMEBus card of some type, or can be made to act as such? If so, with the CPU being replaced by either: 1. A 48>Mhz xtal and a heatsink for the CPU ...

Re: TT Software overscan?

sometimes ago I did some tests and a classic ST sync-code works fine on the TT: lea $ffff8209.w,a1 sync move.b (a1),d0 beq.b sync not.b d0 lsl.b d0,d0 Thanks to that, we can get stable raster on the TT. Therefore there is a chance that software overscan could be reached. Interesting work there Cypr...

Re: TT Software overscan?

Just bought 3 1990FX monitors. Yet to receive them. Hopefully they will do 15khz. Youre worse than me with two! Though to be fair, I only wanted one, but the first one I had delivered was smashed up by the courier (that base is quite heavy, isnt it?) so I had to try again. @IngoQ: I believe i...
