STM1 mouse lead

My ST mouse is fighting me at the moment. I've been playing quite a few point and click adventures like Monkey Island and the microswitches finally gave out, so I replaced those. Now the mouse refuses to scroll down unless I wiggle the cable around. I've already shortened the cable once to get rid o...

Re: Hxc vs flashfloppy

Well I must say that the Hxc floppy emulator software is great. I had 2 things I really wanted to play on my ST - the union demo and Where Time Stood Still. Both were stx files and both seem to work on flashfloppy when converted to hfe 🙂 (well they load at least!)

Re: Hxc vs flashfloppy

Thanks all. I'll buy the firmware anyway to support the work the developer is doing, but for now it sounds like I only really need the manager software.

Will download it later and give it a try!

Re: Hxc vs flashfloppy

Thanks, so is the hfe conversion software part of the licensed software from hxc?

Sounds like it's the converter I need rather than updated firmware

Hxc vs flashfloppy

Up to now I've been using a gotek with flashfloppy. I've been really pleased with the results but there are times where it can't cope with some files (stx, msa). From what I've read, Hxc firmware can address some of these issues (for a small licensing fee) Anyone here had experience of the hxc firmw...

Re: VGA for low and medium res?

Component isn't RGB (but the fact that your screen supports composite raises the chances it _might_ do 15KHz over the VGA port. By no means assured though) Just looked component up - I never knew that (learn something new every day!). Until now, I always assumed component and rgb to be the same thi...

Re: VGA for low and medium res?

Thanks for the info. I think I've found a way around it - hidden on another part of the monitor are both composite and component rgb phono inputs. So they should work fine if I just plug in the relevant rgb signals to them I guess? Has the advantage of meaning my spectrum should work with it too! Un...

Re: VGA for low and medium res?

Thanks - I've been given a 32inch LCD vga/hdmi monitor so I wanted to use it for the ST if possible. I'll knock up a cable and see if I get lucky...

Re: The Union Demo on gotek?

I got the prg file onto a blank disc image via an emulator and that worked great - thanks for the info.

Problem is that the prg file is just the cracktro to the demo, not the demo itself. I still haven't been able to find the actual union demo copy protection free, so all ideas still welcome 🤔
