VGA for low and medium res?

Is there a reason why all the ST to VGA cables I see are for high res only?

Is connecting an ST to VGA for low and medium res more complicated than using the r, g, b, h sync and v sync signals from the monitor port?

Thanks - apologies if discussed before

Re: The Union Demo on gotek?

Thanks that's really helpful. I'm guessing that if I install an ST emulator on pc, that I can copy the prg file to a blank disc image and then transfer that to gotek?

Likely to work?

If you find that easier then for sure go with that :)
Even easier is to watch from a safe distance and just make stupid suggestions 😀 I'll go with that!

Re: Icky - Progress

I'm wondering if a simpler solution would be a short 13 pin din male to 13 pin din female cable that does the swapping around to allow for a standard cable to plug into that. Can do the same on the floppy port and just leave them plugged in ready to accept a standard floppy/video cable without messi...

The Union Demo on gotek?

One demo I remember with particular fondness from my youth is the union demo. However, my ST has no floppy drive and I can't find it in a format that the gotek likes. I seem to recall it had some form of copy protection on it and could only be copied using a utility in the demo itself? That said, an...

Re: Icky - Progress

Just one observation - I don't suppose the fact the monitor is displaying a 4:3 image in widescreen is causing the random flickering? Can you try putting the monitor/tv in 4:3 rather than 16:9?

Re: ALPHA MODIFICATIONS

I can verify that those fixes work on my board too. And as with Icky's my floppy doesn't want to play either. Well done guys. Does your display do that periodic blanking like Ickys too or is your picture stable? I've really enjoyed watching the progress of this from virtually no picture to a nearly...

Re: Forgottenmyname - Progress

Does the pointer move if you use the keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse?

Re: Icky - Progress

Sorry I've been lurking and watching these build threads with interest :)

Does the cable work with a 'real' ST and if so, what's the difference in csync signal between the 2?

Ignore me if I'm talking rubbish 😁
