Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

Pfff... :D anyway... this should go there. And I thought TerribleFire was the abuser in chief of CDTVs! :D From what I've seen today I wouldn't advise putting a 1084 on top of that flimsy CDTV case. It appears to have the structural integrity of an empty tin of supermarket lager. & If you do end up...

But the look, I mean, come on:
Putting a NES on top of a CDTV is like letting a dog sit on your vintage Chesterfield sofa!

Sort that out!!

@terriblefire apologies if I'm being daft here, but how much work it is to get USB implementation to TF536 and some pinouts to connect ports?
I don't think this is going to happen....

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

Going one step further, is it possible to attach long enough tape to fit CF card adapter in memory card slot? TF has added a buffer option to the IDE header on the 536 so that you can use implausibly long IDE cables if you wish. I assume this will work the same way with the CDTV once the other hurd...

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

I'm not sure anyone out there is going to be making their fortune off the back of the CDTV! @bartekmalysz yeah i'll take that CDTV... how much? I think you should do a good price for TerribleFire on this CDTV, - his haggling strategy needs a little bit of polish! As a kid I always wanted...

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

@go0se Looks very promising. I would like to reserver one relocator and TF536 for CDTV, if you accept reservations in this point? Let's not get too carried away, I haven't even ordered the prototypes yet! Once they arrive then I can verify that they a) fit exactly as intended b) they work as ...

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

As I know CDTV users are impatient and demand immediate gratification I decided to create a prototype of the design before giving the go ahead to JLCPCB. Here are the results : As a donor 1.6mm PCB I was forced to use my one and only beloved TF330 as I had nothing else suitable kicking around. Sad t...

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

i pressed my TF536 into it and the pins under the board bent over and shorted out. I had to replace the flexi cables and power button. then the IR control chip died, PSU died and 2 transistors died. I've noticed this feature of the motherboard, "Shall we put a standoff post at the front right corne...

Well mine got me really mad.
I've owned one for less than 24 hours, it hasn't had time to piss me off yet! :)

Re: The TF536 on a CDTV

I have a perfect condition full CDTV if you're interested, only missing matching 1048S in black :D :D :D Be sure to do proper due diligence before selling a CDTV to TerribleFire, he has a history of threatening behaviour towards this classic machine elsewhere on this very forum.....
