Tech regrets

Was thinking after looking at prices of stuff now what did you throw out when you couldn't get a £1 for it if you tried. Amstrad CPC 6128 with monitor loads of other stuff, needed a drive belt that was it, could not give it away, had to move so it went in the bin, about 2005 that was. About 100 to 1...

Re: ST-COMPUTER MAGAZINE

I think id buy one, just because it's the last one in actual print, that's something right there :) That could be a film "the exxos years" who would play me though :) Probably double up as a zombie movie to re-enact most people on the internet  Can see it now, exxos working in a dark room build...

Re: a500 PSU caps

but I don't have the wire for the 520 😔 so unsure about video, but the lights work and the drive does the appropriate clicky seeking type noise... Very Happy For a test could you not use the mono composite video out instead? Just remembered the A520 does colour composite out too, might be a option ...

Re: Smonson's poorly-thought-out toaster oven reflow experiments

What about getting one of those controller kits? They were quite the fashion a few years ago, I suspect they have come down loads now with the masses of cheap micro controllers all over the place. To control the oven? I'm expecting it to be a lot quicker and cheaper to scratch-build it. Plus, I don...

Re: Is anyone happy with their chair?

I'm too cheap, I been using garden chairs or what ever I can get my hands on, they all seem to break in the same way oddly, if you dont move there ok, i've been wearing out the floor from moving them about though and discovered a old floor under my floor, slum lords always going that extra mile... :...

Re: Because I live in a valley...

32/33c This is brutal, I was looking at evaporative cooling instead of full on a/c, don't know how effective it is though. Now sitting in inner city traffic in this  I wouldn't bother, where I was working 18 months ago the AC died and the buildings operators had to wait for parts, and short ...

Re: EORI number ?

Had this with some stuff from China before was a right hassle, was a car seat belt... personally I would not trust a seat belt off Aliexpress but that's another matter.
