Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

Still using the older Eagle app. Possibly a current Eagle would do better at multithreading but then you'll need to re-learn where they put stuff and the renamed functionality. :chairsmack: :chairsmack: :chairsmack: <rant on> And pay a lot more for a lot less to move to the new version, thanks but ...

Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

We're using systems with dual socket and between 8 cores to 24 cores per socket (and between 768GB to 3TB of RAM per system (2 or 4 sockets)). So you do need proper threading in your apps, good numa balancing for the NICs (usually dual 10G or dual 25G cards) and other IO path (RAID cards, Fiber Chan...

Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

If the applications are properly multithreaded they'll use more than one core. I can see this in Eagle auto-router if I chose a number of thread matching the number of core hyper-threaded of my machine and launch it.. at that point all cores go to 100%. Of course each thread = 1 way of routing, so I...

Re: Installing alt-ram assembly problem

you need to add your own bus error handler to trap it (and if it's not a bus error in what you're trying to test still call the standard system bus error routine).
This is not trivial (that pretty much how the TOS detect RAM on boot).

Re: Installing alt-ram assembly problem

Like I said above: If you're not running the Monster alt-RAM "driver", you cannot simply use Maddalt. You have to do what the driver does: enable Monster alt-RAM first. hmm ok, so more work is needed for monster then... don't get it.. but mostly I am doing this in Hatari anyway. So using maddalt sh...
