Re: Alt-/Fast-/TT-RAM expansion for 1040STE

You actually only need 2 address bit to decode Alt-RAM from 4 to 12 MB (giving you 8MB of Alt-RAM) AA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 22 2211111111119876543210 32 109876543210 0x000000 : 00 0000000000000000000000 STRAM 0x3FFFFF : 00 1111111111111111111111 STRAM 0x400000 : 01 0000000000000000000000 AltRAM 0x7...

Re: Side Project: rPi (CosmosEx) as HDMI graphics card

that's a great idea.
As for NVDI, I think that's the issue.. no docs that I know of.
fVDI is probably the best options for now.

Re: Project STacy (STaceX & others)

As for the track length .. the shortest the better... always. If you intend to put more than one card... buffers .. buffers ... (data and address line at least). Noob question: How do you do buffering? As exxos said, 74ls245 (bi-directional so that bus masters can be on either side of the adapter) ...

Re: STFM case remake

Another option is laser cutting. You see a lot of custom made box using laser cut wood or acrylic with tabs to snap the sides together. 3d printing is fine.. if you have a huge printer.. most won't be able to print the regular size Atari STF/M/E case in one print as the print bed is not big enough (...

Re: Project STacy (STaceX & others)

Ok so the adapter, if you want to connect CPU replacement need all the CPU signals. If you also want it to be Mega Bus compatible it needs the same signals as the MegaBus. These 2 statement basically conflict with each other as the Mega Bus has some extra signals as we saw for the interrupt that are...

Re: Mega Bus -> 68K Adapter

why not just take a 64 pin DIN connector and wire it from the 68K. Just use the same pinout as the Mega bus and only replace what's not present (like INT pin are replaced by IPL pins) as you don't intend to connect any Mega Bus card on there (?) . If you explain the final intent we probably can give...

Re: Mega Bus -> 68K Adapter

So you're trying to modify the mega bus to make it a 68K bus ?

Re: Mega Bus -> 68K Adapter

The signals go from the Mega bus to the 74L248 (INTx) to the CPU IPLx lines MegaBus ===> 74LS148 ===> CPU IPLx and yes they get used. they are interrupt lines so that cards on the Mega Bus can trigger interrupts at level 3, 5 and 7 (NMI). As for the monster .. no idea as I don't have one an never lo...

Re: Mega Bus -> 68K Adapter

These signals are routed to a 74LS148 (U39) which does the 8 to 3 encoding to IPL[0..2].
