Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

TOS 2.06 and up but the TOS is only 256KB. So you can totally be reading from one of the 256K block while programing another of these. so with 1MB you can use half in read mode and half in write mode. That give you 2 x TOS you then switch which one get accessed which switches (dip switches or jumper...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

There is 1MB of "ROM Space" from $00E00000 to $00EFFFFF so you can remap the ROM in a read part (normal 00E00000) for the first 512KB and a write area for the ;st 512MB and use the address decoding to assert the /W pin of the flash only when the write space is accessed in supervisor mode. Of course ...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

It's very hard to find 5V 16 bit flash memory (like the "old" 29F800 and equivalent). The issue with the SST39SF040-55 is that it's a 8 bit one so you need 2 of these which makes the flashing harder. I haven't found any flash running at 3.3v with 5v compatible input (I didn't spend a lot of time loo...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

One more thing regarding the Atmel CPLD, we used these properties : PROPERTY ATMEL {JTAG = ON}; PROPERTY ATMEL {LOGIC_DOUBLING = OFF}; /* OFF - little bit faster without blitter */ PROPERTY ATMEL {PREASSIGN keep}; property ATMEL {OUTPUT_FAST ON}; /* OFF - slower by some % */ property ATMEL {POWER_RE...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

yea not much difference. Are you always driving BG ? or is it going Z when not asserted by the CPU ? We had issues with the Atmel on the first 68020 card : DSACK0 = 'b'1; DSACK0.oe = 'b'0; /* Always off */ You would think this would keep the pin in high impedance state ... well it didn't !!!!!!! Tha...

Re: Scope recommendation

I use a Saleae Logic Pro 16 ( https://www.saleae.com/ ) that can do some analog stuff. I like the logic analyzer part but for a pure oscilloscope I would go with a Rigol and reflash it (that's one of my near future plan :) ). As exxos said, my logic pro 16 is not cheap .. but when developing the 680...
