Re: C103253 REV.5 - STFM 1MB Upgrade

Well, work stuff has been very complicated lately, but hopefully soon it'll be more normal, so time to get back to my outstanding projects. After my last unsuccessful attempts to hot air solder, I decided to buy some pre made solder syringes in the hope I have more success than when trying to load m...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

What model of Gotek do you have? There is a number next to the 34 pin connector. I have heard some are not entirely compatible so worth checking.

Otherwise it may be a problem drive. Can you test it on another machine?

To upgrade to 1.04 the simplest way will be to get one of exxos's rom boards and roms, you can have switchable tos 1.02 and 1.04
I'd agree with this, plus it will mean you can simply plug in the dual ROM kit where the chips once were.

I tried 7.2, but it from the AMN site with it being old, I think the floppyshop page broke as well.. The only way I could run later php versions is to run 2 servers :(
It's a shame, 7.2 is definitely faster than 5.3.6 that I was running, not to mention the security fixes. :(

Re: Server updates

Just upgraded my Wordpress site to PHP 7.2, what a bloody nightmare that was. My webserver is Windows, so I ended up having to upgrade Visual Studio runtimes due to the later varsion of PHP using that, then removing all the deprecated extensions. It's a bloody nightmare, but had to be done to or I c...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

Stephen is quite right, you don't need to necessarily use an image manager with FF, you can simply place the .ST images in the root of the USB stick, from which you can use the buttons to select, more detail can be found here: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki/Initial-Setup I personally pref...

I always use a credit card for on-line orders due to the extra protection from the consumer credit act plus it doesn’t allow direct access to my bank account, mitigating the potential hazard of the card details being leaked.
This is also my way of thinking too.

Re: Exporting MIDI files for the Atari from PC

Hmm, I think it may well be some sort of USB to virtual driver into XP problem you have going on. I can't comment on kryoflux, as I've not used one, but bear in mind that it is primarily a software preservation tool and as such it may not be what you're expecting, so I'd suggest a good read of the d...

Re: Exporting MIDI files for the Atari from PC

Based on the fact that that the drive supports 720KB and so does XP: 1. Are you using a 1.44MB floppy disk? If so the FDD media detect will prevent you from formatting at 720KB, so you either need to tape over the media detect hole before you can format, or get a 720KB floppy disk. I'd recommend the...
