Re: 520ST PSU Remake

Looks great RJ. How long dud it take to design it? I'll be honest Phil, I can't take credit for the design, through discussions with various other people I was directed to it on Thingiverse, there is a link early on in the article. It was designed specifically for the PSU I was using (or its varian...

And some more pics. Top and bottom together: IMG_20190419_092406.jpg And the two parts fit together very nicely :) IMG_20190419_092355.jpg The top half still requires the vent holes and 'flash' to be cleaned up. I know 'flash' is typically a term used for injection moulding, but it looks very simila...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

Another suggestion that is similar to RJs above is to use a raspberry pi running footprint. It's a great tool with a good web interface. Re the prints, not trying to be picky but personally I make the wall and top and bottom layers a little thicker.. prevents the prints from being transparent and p...

Re: 520ST PSU Remake

I loaded the bottom section.. 100% fill 6H 58m - 23.29M 20% fill 6H 45m - 21.17M 10% fill 6H 38m - 20.91M Interesting. For me the bottom section was estimated at 5h 43 with 20% infill at .3mm. Top was 6 hours exactly. I can't remember travel times and print speeds off the top of my head. @ .2mm bot...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

I used 20% infill on the PSU case, but it's so thick, so I don't think that would work in this scenario. I'll have to load up my models again and try tweaking infill, see what the slicing results are, maybe go for 10% and try different infill patterns. Do you get a time estimate ? Would be interest...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

I turned off infill for these tests.. It's surprising how much more filament it uses.. It pretty much jumped from 4.5M to 6M! I was using 15% before... And there is not really much mass to this box other than the bottom plate. Speed wise it went up by about 10 minutes with the fill turned off. I wa...
