Great guide RJ.

I'll have to dig my 800xl out to check, lol.

Already upgraded that to 1mb with this kit.
Thank you 😁 More to come later today.

Re: Atari 800XL: Ultimate 1MB upgrade

The upgrade is progressing nicely and will definitely be finished today. The instructions on Lotharek's website are great, and you should visit his site first before proceeding. The product page, including installation instructions can be found here: https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=56 Start...

Re: Bad resistor?

As tzok said, zero ohm resistors used as links. I'm guessing they were moved to change or upgrade the TOS ROMs. As exxos said, looks like a poor soldiering job, but you can probably clean up the flux with isopropyl alcohol

Am surprised no one has done the Dark Phoenix
Well that's just silly, everybody knows that the Phoenix isn't a real bird!! :dizzy:

I would suggest Dark Sparrow, but it's kind of already been done: http://www.old-computers.com/museum/com ... st=1&c=635

Bit darker than the falcon case colour.. kinda like it.. maybe we should call the remake "Dark bird" with that colour  "Project Dark Bird"..
How about " Project Dark Raptor"?

I quite like Kestrel.

Re: Atari 800XL: Ultimate 1MB upgrade

I have one too, crammed into a 600XL  I really like the compact design of the 600XL. It started out as a 16Kb machine, all dirty and neglected. Cleaned it up, upgraded it’s RAM to 64kb, ripped out the rusty shield and fitted the Ultimate 1mb. It also has a Sophia RGB modification, crystal ...
