Re: Heatsink with integrated fan

Are you using the metal shielding still ? Assuming it fits over the. CT that is.. Nope, don't even have it for this Falcon. As I said, the biggest problem is the keyboard, the CT2 (in contrast to the CT60 for instance) has the CPU too close (mostly because it uses the original PSU so there wasn't m...

Re: Heatsink with integrated fan

Unfortunately, that size applies only to the fan (yes, a rather misleading title/description there). I want it for my Falcon's CT2 card, its heatsink is about 30x30x8mm (sitting on an 030) and I need to attach a fan to it. As you can imagine, the biggest enemy is the height, it must fit below 15mm a...

Heatsink with integrated fan

Hi guys, have you ever seen a heatsink like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Heatsink-with-fan-for-5W-10W-High-Power-LED-Cooling-Cooler-DC12V-FLHXN-/323371063969 but smaller (say 40x40mm, ideally less). There's like a million of fans and coolers all over the net but I'm failing to identif...

Re: Atari TT - Bus errors, advice needed!

Maybe also wrong/damaged SCSI termination? TT has always been picky about this one.

Re: TT Software overscan?

The two 1990FX monitors do glorious 15khz :yay2: The 1990SX, like its big brother the 1990SXi, was out of sync. But I wasn't expecting any of them to do 15khz. So chuffed because my only 15khz monitor so far has been the BenQ BL702A which, compared to NEC, well it's a LADA where NEC is a top spec R...

Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

Yeah, I guess there's something to that 'analog feeling'. I'd even say that more analog = more attention it gets. It's a very subjective observation but look how many accessories/addons are here for the 8-bits, STs and Falcon. Except the recent CT60e (which I'm hesitant to label as 'new') it's been ...

Re: Is it possible to generate a 16:9 picture out of Atari

I know the generated picture may not be ideal. I'm mainly curious what exactly forces the LCD to think it's a 4:3 signal and not 16:9. For instance if I set 1152 x 648 using Videlity, my LCD interprets it like "720x576" (just making the number up), tries to rescale this resolution and the result is ...

Is it possible to generate a 16:9 picture out of Atari

This has been bugging me for years but I lack the needed knowledge. What exactly defines that a resolution is interpreted (by LCD, for instance) as 4:3 or 16:9 ? Obviously it's not the width / height because ST Low is never interpreted as 320x200 and even on the Falcon I can set whatever I want but ...

Re: My latest restoration in pictures

My opinion is to not replace anything that still works good. Caps in ST are not known to cause problems or being excessively faulty. There were a series of faulty caps in other home computers from '80s and '90s, but not in ST. This is a photo of an Atari PSU right before recapping. Fully functional...
