Re: Reading & write to RTC 12887 ?

Elements of this look very similar to using the NXP PCF8563 RTC that we use in our products... except that only uses BCD. :( It has the same issues with upper (unused) bits in some registers reporting seemingly random values as the seconds/minutes values change. What really makes it a complete swine...

Re: Starting with assembly language (again)

There are a few snippets for the ST-specifics on there (under the atarist.php page on that site). I won't be able to find it tonight but I do have ("somewhere safe") another guide to assembler on the ST which I vaguely remember as being pretty good. Though it might have been as long ago as the mid-l...

Re: Starting with assembly language (again)

Hi,

If you're OK with a non-platform specific guide then I stumbled across this http://www.chibiakumas.com/68000/
Might get you started with the basics before you get into the platform-dependent stuff.

Enjoy!

Re: Mega 1 four bombs when booting with disk in drive

My Mega 4 has an ASPF34/2 fitted so I'd suggest you check before ordering any bits.

Re: 16BIT ROM CART THOUGHTS

:-o
Nooooo - my OCD has kicked in with the one in the bottom row in the opposite orientation than the others.

Must not give in to the urge to fix it... :zombie:

Better start saving up for one of these as well...

Re: DiagROM for ST

Hmm, sounds like what I really want is a build with the same image size as the cart version but as a replacement for the existing TOS ROMs. Then I could program up the 27c512s and replace the existing ROMs to diagnose & fix the faults, then re-fit the original ROMs or even upgrade to 1.04 at some po...

Re: DiagROM for ST

Thanks for the reply. When I downloaded the binaries for the ST they appeared to be just too big to fit in a pair of 27c512 - probably just a few K with a couple of strings and a couple of blocks of constant data values so I was hoping there might be a smaller image that would fit in the pair of 512...

Re: DiagROM for ST

I've a couple of STFMs which don't boot to the desktop & thought that DiagROM might be a good way to try & see what needed doing. I don't currently have any option but to fit the ROMs in place of the current TOS ROMs. The boards have 2 ROMs fitted, TOS 1.02. I have some 27c256 EPROMs (6x 250ns, 2x 1...
