Re: NetBSD 7.1 on the Atari TT

A little update: I have been spending time building a VMware NetBSD 7.1 environment so that I can do a cross build. So far I have managed to build complete distro fileset for the Atari TT and have started to optimise the kernel. Currently I am working to build the various X files and get the ET4000 ...

Home-brew Atari TT ECL VGA Adapter

Today I had a go at building an Atari ECL (TT-High) to VGA adapter using the diagrams on the Atari-forum http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=25661&p=286175&hilit=TT+ECL#p286175 I used the option suggested by Frank Lucas at the bottom of the thread to use diodes instead of the resistors o...

How Many Left?

So I have often wondered exactly how many of the variants of Atari ST, STE, Mega STE, TT and Falcon there are still in the world and are they still being used. For example there is a web site in the UK that takes the governments stats on cars to show how many are left still on the roads. https://www...

Re: NetBSD 7.1 on the Atari TT

Very cool man! I will definitely give you images a shot once you're finished. I'm glad to hear you'll do an et4000 version too, awesome! Thanks - As with most of us here I am trying to do this round my day job. The compiling on the actual TT is taking way too long. I have just built up a NetBSD VM ...

Re: NetBSD 7.1 on the Atari TT

Wow... 10 meg of ST RAM? How much TT RAM? Still, nice to see a modern UNIX running. The X server will take quite a few days to compile. I remember doing so in the 90s on a Sun SPARCstation 10 under SunOS 4.1.x, and that took about 3 days. 10MB of ST-Ram was one of the first upgrades I performed on ...

NetBSD 7.1 on the Atari TT

Well this weekend I fancied watching paint dry and thats what I did. :ball: I decided to have a go at installing NetBSD on the Atari TT. Little did I know that this task was going to take around 40 hours to complete. I found two sources to help with the install: http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetB...

Re: 520ST Power Socket Replacement

You could try http://stores.ebay.co.uk/atarifreakz He does have a lot of connectors and stuff, but no idea if he has those. He doesn't list everything. Similar with jaysretro computing may have spares.. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Atari-Computer-Sales or finally best electronics http://www.best-electr...

520ST Power Socket Replacement

I have been looking for a replacement socket for my 520ST - Its a 7 pin din but is a plug within a socket type design. I have looked round but not been able to find these anywhere.

Socket is on the left next to the midi ones in the picture.
