Re: Icky - Progress

I might be going mad but I just traced the pin 4 MONO DETECT on the monitor socket all the way to the VSYNC on the GLUE. Can't see it going anywhere else.... So looking at pin 12 on the monitor socket which should be VSYNC is going to the MONO_DETECT. I have the feeling the socket is wired wrong.

Re: Icky - Progress

RP1 is soldered correctly. Measuring 5V rail to MFP pin 29 its 1K as per RP1. However Measuring 5V rail to Mono Detect on monitor socket its 14K. Need to see why - just looking. That is odd.. bad solder ? Even so, as long as the voltage is stable on the MFP, I don't know any way it can switch into ...

Re: Icky - Progress

Looking at the diagram, I have it on RP1 pin 4, so check soldering there.. also check the mono_det pin to 5V and make sure you have 2.2K there... Pin also goes to the MFP pin 29... so check soldering around the MFP in general... RP1 is soldered correctly. Measuring 5V rail to MFP pin 29 its 1K as p...

What do you get on the mono select pin ? EDIT: Looking at the diagram, I have it on RP1 pin 4, so check soldering there.. also check the mono_det pin to 5V and make sure you have 2.2K there... Re: Icky - Progress

Just for kicks i plugged in a high res adaptor into the board and measured the HSYNC HSYNC = 15.6kHz DS1Z_QuickPrint2.png Its like the hi-res select line is selecting the frequencies the wrong way round. i.e. with scart cable in its setting the board to hi-res frequencies and when plugging in a hi-r...

Re: Icky - Progress

Also check V&H sync voltages and waveforms, and also check CSYNC voltages vs a working ST... So this is weird - since I have been getting the bombs after finding the RP6 not being soldered correctly looking at the waveforms on STF Remake board its like it thinks its in High res mode with these freq...

Re: Icky - Progress

Should be ok now then... I checked a heck of a lot of stuff on the schematics last night and couldn't find anything wrong anywhere now.. not saying my checking is good, but once we get your video stable.. we should be able to make a better leap forward... Yes it was an epic adventure yesterday. I'm...

Re: Icky - Progress

OK - I found some bad soldering on the RP6. I cleaned it up and now I am getting bombs but the screen is still all over the place. Let me attach a video OK.. might be idea to measure resistance on each CPU pin and make sure you read something to VCC.. (IE 2.2K) Just measured and all the pins have t...
