Re: C-Lab MK2 CA401332-002-REVC

Just adding some photos of the rear and close ups of the rear audio section. Clab have replaced quite a few SMD caps and I also notice a 22uf tantalum cap that isn't usually there.

Re: C-Lab MK2 CA401332-002-REVC / Repair/Restore log

A new day... New things to do. Finished fixing the HDD pin. The pin also needed to be resoldered to the board. The pin was also quite fragile now, so to stop it being pushed back in finished it with some araldite glue which is non conductive and sets like cement. PXL_20210112_084815855.jpg Upon furt...

Re: C-Lab MK2 CA401332-002-REVC

Also interestingly on the clock patch R216 which provides the FPU clock has had its resistor removed, but it hasn't been connected to the clock patch. So I'm not sure if the FPU would function like this, but there might be a patch on the rear, will find out later. EDIT: Sorry mistake, R221 is for FP...

Re: C-Lab MK2 CA401332-002-REVC

I'll take a look underneath the board tomorrow and take photos. My guess is perhaps Clab were playing with bypas...

Re: Trying to restore old HDD

You tried the 'bang the HDD against some wood' technique and it didn't work? That's really odd. The only other thing I can think of is trying the 'turn upside down, drop it and see if it lands on its feet' technique. Worth a shot.

Re: Openflops floppy emulator

Why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory these days... Just read the GitHub and he explains the original building blocks were started with the gotek schematic and the form factor was kept so that people can still use widely produced gotek cases... It's not rocket science, just read the lin...

Re: Openflops floppy emulator

That looks suspiciously like a 're-branded' version of https://github.com/SukkoPera/OpenFlops with no mention in the listing of where it came from, although I do see his name on the board silkscreen. I have no idea what the license situation is in terms of the 'real?' Gotek boards, if such a thing ...

Openflops floppy emulator

Yo guys, I've been waiting for Centuriontech to get more Goex in stock for what feels like six months, not sure what's going on, I emailed him about two of three times etc.. Anyway I started looking for alternatives that have Flashfloppy and found this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OpenFlops-Floppy-Di...
