Re: Basilisk II Atari

You can not compare DMA "slowdowns"* and stalling CPU during video access. You said: Even on wikipedia you can read: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_512K that effective clock is ~6MHz because of 68000 and video controller took turns accessing DRAM every four CPU cycles d...

I wouldn't be so sure about this. :-) As Stephen writes above, ST/STE/TT and its DMA works on a very similar principle.

Re: Forums and Facebook

Overall if people want to contribute to a community, then they do it on forums like this one. As soon as people get help on FB but information is basically lost and does not help anyone else whatsoever. Just lazy and selfish of people IMHO to be like that. This. So far I still read Falcon 030 User ...

Re: CT63 only starts from 030 mode

Hm... now that I'm thinking about it... if a patched CT60CONF.CPX (let's forget any flashing or updating for now) hasn't been released... how on earth you, as a user, are supposed to store flash parameters if support for given flash id is not in the original package? So you see, we have actually man...

Re: CT63 only starts from 030 mode

I'm afraid only Pavel can answer this, I'm quite inexperienced in that area. :-/ But as I said, there's no way he didn't do some manual patching by himself. With this new knowledge I could perhaps create new Flash060 and CT60CONF.CPX from source (same applies to 1.05 "bios" which uses the ...

Re: CT63 only starts from 030 mode

If you take a look at what Willy had done for this CT60e: https://github.com/mikrosk/ct60tos/commit/277009cff1bccf6b05339bb52cf3bcd5f344d3c3 https://github.com/mikrosk/ct60tos/commit/41cba8744db6622ec841ad608dd97eeee4fc6b75 https://github.com/mikrosk/ct60tos/commit/ff75ace263291f32f3902f5ba281ed8737...

Re: CT63 only starts from 030 mode

No problem, actually I think my message also sounded a bit rude. It's just... with every new batch of CT6x, there's a wave of people on Facebook who basically expect to turn the computer on and have everything ready, without reading anything. I'm a little sensitive on the topic as back in 2001, you'...

Re: CT63 only starts from 030 mode

To be honest, I find it hard to follow your steps. You're shooting random problems with random solutions, you're asking on three forums at once (and asking on Facebook is like asking for the shittiest advice of the year), you had disk full of unknown stuff, you never announce what fixed what (what h...

Re: FALCON030 which only boots on ROM

You will need to provide more information than that.

What does it mean that "all IDE access are disabled" ?

How "impossible" is to access floppy disk?

Is there any error shown? What hard disk driver do you use? Does SCSI work? Etc...
