Re: Falcon CA401332-003 Rev D/C Service blog

It's hard to say, generally speaking, all boils down to having a good clock patch and maybe update the audio circuirty but I have personally never done that. So as long the bus is fine and there are no DMA issues, you're good to go. :)

Re: RF shielding my Falcon

Interesting idea. Aren't you afraid that the RAM module generates some heat which has nowhere to go?

Re: Wanted: Boxed Atari Falcon 030

Just to clarify: github doesn't force you to use any concrete license, you can choose whatever you like (either from a list of the most well known ones or just supply your own). So perhas you had just chosen the first it offered to you? Also, I'm going to play devil's advocate here: while your publi...

Re: Falcon B52803000012 service blog

Wow, this confirms my earlier findings. There was a batch in 08/1992, too. So far I have seen only 10/1992 Falcons, cool. I'm pretty sure this is the first Falcon batch ever, presented at Atari Messe'92 in August.

Btw, my Sparrow had the exact obscure RAM card.

Re: Falcon sound problems (DSP)

Btw, this dsp/sound issues may arise from heat as well. I've had the exact same problem with my CT2 Falcon - it works nicely but if the lid is closed and heat amounts to certain value, I hear it again.

Re: Added internal SCSI port to my Falcon

@Steve by any chance you don't have a CosmosEx V3 to try in there? To me it looks like that there's no way it could fit but I may be wrong.

Re: Atari ST C Dev under Windows

Just to clarify: this doesn't mean you can't code, compile and to some extent even debug your Atari code with Windows/Visual Studio. Just the PureC part must go away. It's totally possible to setup Visual Studio (or any other editor/IDE) calling your m68k-atari-mint-gcc, catch its error messages etc...

Re: H4 remake

A lot of people still don't get the amount of fixes which need to be done to the original machines either. In many cases, its just going to be cheaper and easier to buy a legacy board. This is a great point, really. I just wish it were a STE machine to replace, in my opinion these are used more wid...
