Re: Falcon Restoration Project

No no, that's price for one unit. BEST doesn't mess around (EDIT: Ah, you mean the $2400 sum, yes, that's for a pack). As for the NVRAM outside Falcon, IIRC TOS behaviour depends on the version. Like 4.01 and 4.02 boots without NVRAM while 4.04 doesn't, something like that. AF is full of messages &q...

Re: Falcon Restoration Project

If I were to guess, somebody attempted to replace the NVRAM IC and messed it up. The wires to the CPU doesn't look like a good sign either. In the meantime you can check connections between NVRAM and the other components, most likely there will be broken paths. I guess you are aware of the fact that...

Re: Where do you draw the line ?

In the end it is always what makes it fun for you. Personally, be it your H5 or Pavel's (hopefully one day finished) Falcon030NG board, my motivation for purchase is / will be always the same - the security of having a modern motherboard without all the faults and cheap workarounds so I can enjoy my...

Re: Atari TT: Optimal OSSC settings.

Would any of these work with TT-High that's been converted to VGA? I guess the real question is; do they support 1280x960? Just tried on Medusa -- 1792 pixels per line does the trick. There's a slight moire pattern (its visibility seems to depend on the monitor brand, too) but I couldn't make it go...

Re: Atari TT: Optimal OSSC settings.

Not to slander the OSSC or anything but with the Medusa it's a matter of three settings... basically one, just set the pixel clock to 1024, double pixels/lines and done. My TT has never produced a better picture.

Re: Two Falcon 030's Rev B & Rev D/C

@kohli79's photos is a good example why those PCB s/n shouldn't be taken as gospel. It's a normal (Atari) board with their upgrades. I guess they were recasing / mounting Atari boards in parallel to producing new ones.
