Re: Total Newbie Thread

Completely agree. Do not cheap out on your first build... it will end badly. ”But did kludge listen? No, of course he didn’t.” I have no idea where the components I have come from as they were bought by someone else a long time ago. I see it as a learning opportunity, and maybe as an excuse to buy ...

Re: kludge’s TF530 build

Yes, I decided to start a build thread instead. I planned to send you a new message that you could ignore the first PM, but I forgot. Sorry about that!

I’ll place an order for new resistors and resistor networks.

Thanks!

kludge’s TF530 build

As a long time follower it’s time to start building one of these cuties. The parts I got for this are sourced from the old BOM (10k resistor networks, etc), so I guess I’ll need to source some replacements for these, as well as for the resistors.

Genuine TF530. It’s on fire!

terriblefire wrote: Wed Jan 23, 2019 8:01 am Ok. Doesn’t appear to work. Not even DiagROM. Will investigate a bit but TBH I may scrap the TF534 at this point.
Crap. That’s unfortunate. Any ideas on what went wrong?

Re: Hi! Mark Fixes Stuff from the UK!

As a fellow newbie here I say: Welcome, Mark!

Watched quite a few of your videos when I was in the process of getting a ZX Spectrum 48k up and running. Never did, though. I might just have to get back up on that particular horse. :)

Re: Compatibility issues with TF530/TF534 and A600?

It is a shame that this didn't work. I think the trick is figuring out how to disable the onboard CPU and not letting it interfere but I don't think anyone has released an open source version of this trick... Yet ;) We know for a fact that it is possible, and I bet all the pieces are out there to b...

Re: Compatibility issues with TF530/TF534 and A600?

Tried again. No dice. Tried the following: 1. No DIP, A600 HLT set high. Works. 2. A600 HLT set low. DIP HLT set high. Doesn't work. 3. A600 HLT set low. DIP HLT tied to RST (As I read somewhere that you shouldn't assert RST without asserting HLT. Or something.). Doesn't work. DIP 68000 works in A50...
