Re: LC III - Will it ever run?
D12 and D13 seem to be shorted on the CPU and on the PCB at the CPU but not on the processor direct slot. Very strange. Anyway, the next task will be removing the CPU and cleaning up all the pads. For a supposedly 33MHz part it's getting a little too warm in one corner for my liking at 25MHz. Maybe ...

LC III - Will it ever run?
Well, the LCIII is home. First checks: No shorts. Power rails good. The CPU is getting a 25MHz clock. Reset stays low and then goes high. /HALT not asserted. A single HIGH->LOW on address lines. I've yet to check /DTACK etc. though surely if /DTACK wasn't asserted the address would stay on the bus a...

Re: General Stuff(tm)
I've got the LCIII home and done the quick tests:
No shorts
Power rails OK.
Clock getting to the CPU.
/HALT not asserted.
The CPU is doing absolutely nothing though. It's sitting as if it's a dumb hunk of silicon. Nothing on any pin.
I may start a new thread for the attempted repair.

I know. Mail order is such a pain, especially if you can't specify the type of postage to use.

Happy bunny...
I think I'll refactor my F1/2 memory board so that it fits in an XI. It's actually simpler as it will not need the expansion header stuff and be fixed at 512K.

I just want them to say that they can't fix and then transport it to the BMW garage!
