MISSING LINK TUTORIAL - DEANO (From MEGA ISSUE 3)

MISSING LINK TUTORIAL (PART 1) BY DEANO (eds note....it's probably worth mentioning that this tutorial is more for the experienced stos programmer than the beginner, although learners may still find it of interest....enjoy!) The Missing Link is, in my opinion, the best extension to be written for S...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

So after talking to Rodolphe, we finally figured out the problem and we are now working :) I guess it would help if I had actually built a 020 booster, as this chip wires up like it, so actually had a line missing in my code process VMA cycles correctly... Anyway it is now working at the stock 8Mhz ...

IF vs ON

I did some quick tests to benchmark IF vs ON ... 10 A=1 20 timer=0 : for Z=0 to 10000 30 if A=1 then gosub 110 40 next Z 50 print timer 60 timer=0 : for Z=0 to 10000 70 on A gosub 110 80 next Z 90 print timer 100 end 110 return The timer to benchmark how long things take. When run it outputs.. 219 2...

AUTOEXEC.BAS explained

This file allows a STOS BAS file to auto execute when STOS loads. For example rather than having to constantly type in the missing link registration line, this can be done automatically in the AUTOEXEC.BAS . 10 rem register missing link 20 A = mostly harmless (1,2,3,4,5) However we would still have ...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

DMA stuff is done in bus master mode (driven by GLUE). So when there is a DMA transfer the CPU is not bus master. So that timeout tells us there is potentially something wrong with BR/BG/BGACK login to the SEC CPU. ST_BR, CPU_BG,CPU_BR seem to be always high... so nothing requesting the bus yet...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

Is the E clock running properly ? Looks good on scope.. AVEC should definitely do something on interrupt from the keyboard. But if we can't write to the ACIA it probably doesn't trigger interrupt yet. So it's really around VMA/VPA No idea, I keep trying things, but no luck.. If I keep pressing rese...

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

Its odd, because I see activity on VMA, but not VPA or AVEC ... but VMA shouldn't go low without VPA being low to start with ?!

Re: V2.5 BOOSTER CURRENT PROTOTYPE STATUS

So something amiss, anyone any ideas whats going on here ? dma.jpg EDIT: I tried removing AVEC from my code just to see what happens, and diag-cart says autovector error.. so that much be working... but still no idea whats going on with the DMA errors unless some sort of bus grant issue :shr...
