Re: TOS after 32 years - what could be done better ?

A small thought... 020 CPU support in TOS104. As most know, forced to move to TOS206 to use the 020 CPU.

Re: WD1772-0202 - overheats at 16MHz

Hehe. Brad tried to dissuade me from buying most of what I wanted and refused to sell me a mylar TT keyboard map. I did get the TOS 3.06, TT power supply and, in the end, the Ajax chip and 1.44MB drive. I had to persuade him that I knew that it was not guaranteed to work and I wouldn't blame him or...

Doesn't Best Electronics still sell them
They still have them listed, half price when I looked the other day IIRC.

Does your cam have a "pet" setting ? It takes very fast shots so chances are you can get one in focus on like 100 shots ;)

Re: Hello from Maryland

I'm a long time Atari user (from back in the day) who has come back after a rather long break. Over the last few years I've been buying Atari stuff here and there. I"m up to 6 Atari computers (which is probably enough) so now it's time to start buying mods. :welcomewave: A fair lot of Atari's there...

Re: WD1772-0202 - overheats at 16MHz

I would assume the MSTE stays in 1.44 mode (16mhz) until you access a 720K floppy again.. I guess you could format a 1.44, swap to a 720k read the disk.. leave it for a hour.. then try a 1.44 again.. would assume it would work ok in that test.

Re: WD1772-0202 - overheats at 16MHz

Oh well, busting myths ("all -0202 work!") is also creating new knowledge .. ;) Indeed. 0202 was later and more likely to work, in theory. But I've tested 100s over the years and its just pot luck. I class the vl as old tech, seen them in old BBC machines. Some of those work, and some 0202 don't.

Re: WD1772-0202 - overheats at 16MHz

The vl1772 do get hotter than the wd1772s. Its pot luck if they work at 16mhz or not. Though most which do run at 16mhz can still overheat after serious usage. But, this is why my HD designs switch back to 8mhz when the 1772 is not in use. So I class the 1772s I sell as 16mhz capable if they can for...

Tesla coil geek week 2006 - wireless power

12 years ago already. I hope to get back to this in the future. I have designed and built all sorts of stuff for future testings.. Though "sadly" all took a backseat for Atari stuff. Mostly wireless power in built up areas make it next to impossible to do :( normal systems have a wavelength of like ...
