Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
Ok, mixed bag of progress recently... None on the H4/H5 saga sadly (not enough time at a single sitting to tackle either...and apparently no milliohm meter at work...sigh) The 520 STFM arrived and is working nicely...as a bonus it turns out it's a 70789 rev F2 board with TOS 1.04 installed...so othe...

Re: The future of TerribleFire
@terriblefire I'd like to add my thanks to this too... especially on behalf of the ST owners who can use the TF boards in their systems too!
We all appreciate your time and great support as well as your expertise!
When I finally fix my A500 & A500+ they will get some TF love too!

Re: The latest Addition to the ST Family
Thanks for the additional pictures rubber_jonnie ! Looks like all the custom chips are socketed! I think there are only one or two of those in my whole collection..most have the DMA soldered in, a few (mostly the newer ones) have the Shifter soldered in too! With it being just the two ROMs I'm expec...

Re: The latest Addition to the ST Family
@rubber_jonnie Thanks for the pictures!
I've not seen that motherboard revision in a case with the long floppy button before...
Mine are all the older ones without a blitter footprint or the early 70789 revisions (so RAM under the PSU).
What are your plans for it (after the deep clean)?

Re: New project: An ACT Apricot F1 "barn find"
stephen_usher That's a similar footprint to all the parallel Flash devices we're using on our products...as/when we can get hold of them! Our repairs guys can swap the chips off one board & onto another in mere minutes with almost no problems...I'm never likely to get anywhere near their levels...

And don't make that poor Shifter feel left out once you've labelled the DMA - let's not have any discrimination against any of the custom Atari chips on this forum please!

Re: Stuff and Things.
It was great to see them thanks:) Glad you got chance after all the rescheduling over the last 18 months plus! I need to get it pulled apart, see whats what. What is your nice surprise? Mine appears to be a fully functional 70789 F2 board with TOS 1.04 in ROM (and socketed)! Shifter & DMA are s...
