Re: Board cleaning

Thanks for your feedback. Will try soaking in IPA over night, maybe there's no point in penny pinching at this point... ;)

Re: IngoQs attempt at messing up the H4

Btw @PaulJ: Thanks to you, the power up went absolutely smoothly. The only issue was a small solder bridge on the DAC, causing the blue channel to be missing. The rest worked out of the box.

From personal experience, black and white cats are the most trouble... still have one (now 8 months young) & the other who disappeared 3 years ago. Both are/were much more trouble than all the others! Maybe it's a survival instinct to notice the cat... Yeah, you may be right. We have a bl...

Re: MONGREL REMAKE H4 COMPETITION

Cool, thanks :)

Was a lot fun to build, and admittedly my most complex soldering job since about 25 years :) Now I am really looking forward to the possible expansions, to make this a really mean machine some day :)

It's alive

Haven't fully tested it because of a lack of working floppy drives, but at least got it to run GB6. Seems quite stable to me, and no complains about the video quality either.

The DAC is getting quite hot, is that normal?

Re: derkom's attempt

Good hint, I always use 350°C, maybe that's why I have such a hard time cleaning the flux residues...

Board cleaning

Hiya, I was wondering what you guys use to cleaning boards, especially the residues that flux leave behind? I had and still have a hard time to get for example the H4 board clean. I am under the impression that flux residues are alcohol soluble, but when cleaning with IPA there is white residue left...

Sadly no time anymore for a test run, will have to wait a bit... And I have to admit, I am a little scared ;)
