Re: Need DB19 male right angle connex for Falcon mobo
I doubt you'll find one. The only options I can think of is to make one by soldering some 1mm copper wire pigtails to a normal male connector, or design a PCB to adapt a DB15 VGA connector to the Falcon board. The latter could be turned in to quite an elegant solution if done right. There might even...

Re: Help with building an Ethernec
On the gerbers and info about NetUSBee you have to cut a trace after first power up something similar. I don't know why. Yep. It's so you can program the MAC address into the eeprom. On this card (Hydra) it's provided by JP1. That part's working good. :) I changed the RJ45 socket out for a full one...

Re: Help with building an Ethernec
Oh thanks! I didn't know that about the first RPi's. I'll pillage a socket with magnetics out of something else I have here (probably a RPi is all I have that I can think of haha) and try it.

Help with building an Ethernec
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had experience with building an Ethernec style card. I built up an Hydra card https://www.atariworld.org/hardware/hydra/ which looks attractive for its low part count and easily available parts. It's talkin' on the Atari side of things... The driver initialises, ...

Re: Hatari on Mac OS Catalina
Jon, you can always upgrade to Big Sur, the general consensus is its better than Calalina bugwize. Really don't know though since I'm hiding out with Mojave. :D Thinking about getting a M1 Mini just to play with which would have Big Sur. :D We've had some massive headaches with Big Sur but they're ...

Re: I need your help for my Falcon030
Hi everybody :) I've replaced the socket and i've exactly the same problem. As the Dallas Chip wasn't in good condition, i removed it as i suspect that it can corrupt data... Nothing changed :( I'm lost... I wonder if i'll be able to repair this motherboard  Did you put a replacement NVRAM in?...

Re: TQFP Soldering Gods Required! (PAID WORK)
For the ppc I don't think a dremel is a good idea - I think chipquick smd removal would be my go to. I second that. Chipquik and an electric vacuum pickup tool is by far the safest and easiest method I've found so far for removing large QFP. It's expensive stuff but it's worth it when working with ...

Re: WTB: Falcon DSP IC
IIRC Isnt the Falcon CPU a 'custom job' too? I don't think so. Atari could have put in a large order for them, so they may look a little unique. I'm told that any ordinary QFP 68030 will work just fine but I'm yet to try it. I have a Falcon I was working on during lockdown and the Freescale 68030 f...

Welcome back!
Feel free to post a photo of your setup. I love seeing them!
Don't be afraid to ask for here for advice before changing the fan and NVRAM. It's not hard, but there are a few nuances you may want to know and there's no such thing as a silly question.

Re: WTB: Falcon DSP IC
In that case, does anyone want to chip in and order a 30 foot container of Atari bits to make it worthwhile? Good luck with that. He won't do bulk orders as he seems to be worried about resellers. It's a little unreasonable but I do see his point when it comes to the flippers on eBay. He seem...
