Re: Medusa Scandoubler announced!

I have a Medusa. So far only used it with everything default and ST low/medium/high. Using the same Dell 2001FP that I normally run 15kHz VGA to, but now DVI-D instead. Picture is absolutely perfect.

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

Not sure what the 340 does ? but on the H5 GAL it fiddles the WP IIRC to fool TOS into thinking there's been a floppy change. I understood that to be the "Media change fix". Ah, you're right. Indeed the Epson 340 handles media change that way which is why Atari basically standardized on i...

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

If you are using drive(s) without auto-sensing on pin 2 or if you jumper them to work this way, you have to connect all wires from the three way socket to grorrnd. use the ground connegtion next to the socket. Ttris is the recommended a',d best mode of operation, unless y_ou I9u use the high densit...

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

No idea if the MSTE behaves this way @troed ? I can understand its switching mode when trying to read from a floppy, but not when trying to save to it.. I do not see how it could possibly know if it has a HD or DD disk in the drive ? Same with a unformated floppy, be it DD or HD.. TOS cannot read a...

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

http://www.wrsonline.de/pdf/HDKit.pdf German, can't copy text to translate :( but that only seems to mention pin 19,20,21. It would have to mention pin 14.. I can read German well enough. But is that the ELCO kit? It doesn't say ELCO anywhere, but yeah, maybe that's the PSG connections it uses (too).

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

I'm trying to find the manual/sw archive for the ELCO HD Floppy kit. I see some discussions on it connecting/able to connect to the PSG.

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

For the sake of documenting what has been found: I looked at the Hatari buserror tests from real machines, as well as looked at how the STEFlag is set by TOS, and while MSTE might be the only ST* that decodes ff860e (?) then at least the STE won't bus error on it and does run the code. So it would b...

Re: TOS patch for 1.44MB floppy support ?

Alright, the fd_density struct is purely internal and is what's used to either set mode using the PSG (ST Book) or (M)STE using ff860e. So, I think you're doing the right thing with TOS patch #41 at the moment. Besides that it would need to be a TSR in AUTO if we would want to use a regular TOS 2.06.
