Yes, in your example, two 1Kohm resistors in parallel would be equivalent to a 500ohm resistor. I have no idea how tolerant the combination would be in relation to heat or stress compared to a single resistor.
1/RT = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3...

Re: Sell old machines
I guess if I have to ask, I probably don't need it, but what is an Atari SA?
I'm certain I'll feel silly once you explain it, but I had to ask.

Re: Commander Keen
However, I know the game was not originally on PC but on other platforms. I'm not really sure what you're referring to here, but I believe you're thinking of some other game series. The Commander Keen series of games was almost exclusively PC. The first five were DOS only. The sixth, Keen Dreams, w...

Re: Retrotink, or other upscalers
Interesting; thanks! This makes the OSSC look more flexible and maybe more reliable. That's a useful datapoint. The OSSC is extremely more powerful and flexible than the RetroTink, but it also quite a bit more expensive. It does have a lot more settings and adjustability as well. Interesting. Since...

Re: Retrotink, or other upscalers
I don't have a RetroTink device, but I can vouch for using SCART. I had one of the Best Electronics VGA cables and the output was only ever acceptable at best. Low resolution was pretty good, but medium was just only acceptable. I used it with my NEC multisync monitor and it was OK. Things were mayb...

Re: New Falcon a lemon?
So when I received the item the return key was not attached to it's stabilizer bar so I used a key puller and removed it so I could slide it back underneath. That's when I noticed the keyboard was WHITE not GRAY underneath and also the key itself underneath is white. They are totally painted. They ...

Re: New Falcon a lemon?
It has an ST keyboard (it seems) I'm curious what makes you think it has an ST keyboard? No stock ST keyboard was ever dark gray like that. That is the normal color for a Falcon keyboard and I don't see anything obvious that would make anyone think that it is anything other than a U.S. Falcon keybo...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To
There's a user over on the AtariAge forums that is having an issue with his ST after setting up and installing a Gotek with the FlashFloppy firmware. He said that the keys he's pressing don't bring up the correct letter. Q comes out as A, W comes out as Z, A comes out as Q, Z comes out as W, M does...

Re: Gotek Q&A
ST_AB_330_1.zip Actually, no, it isn't the machine. It is the Flashfloppy or HxC autoboot file that is at fault and it affects any and everyone single person using a Gotek with any model ST. Don't believe me? Open the File Selector software, select search, and start typing. You'll see that many of ...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To
That's what I thought too, but his STE is a U.K. model, with a standard QWERTY keyboard and U.K. TOS, and the keyboard works perfectly, as it should with any and all other apps.
Nothing about this makes any sense whatsoever. Very strange.
