Re: Apples aren't the only fruit.

Yes, they're the very same, but the Texelec ones have a longish lead time... and they're from the 'States. If I can find some local foil coated and self-adhesive foam which works then that will solve the problem more cheaply and more quickly. (Basically ~£30 for a very large number of pads I can us...

Re: Apples aren't the only fruit.

Yeah, I think all the ones for the 80s are fully ripe now. Oh well, the foil covered foam has been delayed. Probably tomorrow now. I don't doubt it. So are the keyboard foam/foil pads anything like these? Foam/Foil pads I know these are in the US, just curious if they are similar as I see these typ...

Re: Stuff and Things.

It is but not a problem I've run into before, even post Brexit. It depends upon whether the customs has picked your shipment to look at or not. Some things from across the pond come unmolested but others (like my last Best Electronics shipment) get the duty and the processing charges added and VAT ...

Yay! indeed. I never expected the IC to arrive the day after I ordered it :)

I also hooked the 'scope to TP 14 and the output pin of the cassette port, as I can't hear the cassette sound over audio anymore. It works just fine, I see the signal at both points :)

Re: Issue with the STM 4MB RAM UPGRADE

@Malichite Just wondering how you got on with your expansion board and removing those 4 header pins?

Are you up and running now?

Thanks.

Re: Icky made me do it - TRS-80 CoCo

Well wow. I ordered the 14529 yesterday and it's just arrived through the door!!! Very impressed with the speed of delivery indeed. And, for all of you waiting to hear the result, it's now fixed :) Makes me wonder, that IC was already socketed, so did they know from the off that it was unreliable? W...

Re: Stuff and Things.

Well, that was not quite what I was expecting. I had to pay an additional £55 import duties for the Altairduino!! Be aware if you're ordering one, it isn't included in the price including shipping. Now also wondering if I will have duty to pay on the Yellowstone card as well :( I expect that Brexit ...

Re: Icky made me do it - TRS-80 CoCo

Quick test before work this morning: IMG20240227085606.jpg The green clip lead is hooked up on the left to TP4 (Labelled TP7 on the schematic), which connects to the input, pin 14, of the 14529 which we now know is dead. The right hand end is connected to the end of the audio output lead that is hoo...
