Re: ST RGB to PC screen capture cards ?

I've ordered the Medusa. I will then use my existing HDMI-to-USB capture device(s) with it.

I do believe it will take a lot of time for you to save the same amount on electricity costs :P

Re: HW free Overscan on the GEM desktop possible!

However, I do try to keep an open mind in case future knowledge can change older limitations that couldn't be overcome back in the day. It's boring now when Ijor has dumped the chips ;) The exact same position (= GLUE code) you _would_ enable lower border is unfortunately the same position that ena...

Re: HW free Overscan on the GEM desktop possible!

(It's not possible to "open the lower border" in monochrome. I'm trying to remember what it is the demo really does, but in any case it would not work in GEM) Otherwise, yes, I remember using a program myself back in the day that worked fine in GEM with lower border open. Disk access turns...

Re: Mega STe stability issues.

Since we've been discussing this on IRC I'll just add to the thread, for posterity, that 16 bytes is the size of the internal DMA fifo. Also, _Dbug_ has previously had severe DMA issues on this machine and got rid of them (or only mostly?) by changing to the HC CPU. The DMA chip is the square -001 m...

Re: Mega STe stability issues.

That one is probably for Troed, the resident fullscreen demo expert!: I also tried a recent demo from DHS/SMFX ( The Art of Profanity ) which was always failing after the first screen, now I've been able to run it twice in a row from start to finish, there are some occasional top-border fullscreen ...

Re: Mega STe stability issues.

Did you make any modifications to the MSTE when you first installed the MonSTEr perhaps? ("To get the blitter working") I think.

Re: Medusa Scandoubler announced!

This is why I'd like a Retrotink5x, which auto-configures every possible input correctly, automatically. If the Medusa does that for half the price then it would be a winner. That's what it says it does. with more than 50 predefined settings for popular old computers this would be a downgrade from ...
