Re: A5000 - diving in at the deep end!
So, this little widget arrived over the weekend: PXL_20231204_135114619.jpg It's jokingly called the 'Throwing Star LAN TAP', but let me tell you, the damn thing works. There are two ports that are straight through for your connection, the other two allow you to tap either inbound or outbound traffi...

Re: Stuff and Things.
Aaaand this arrived just now, a cheap buy off eBay: PXL_20231204_115247748.jpg Powers on then off almost immediately but AFAIK no yellow light. Looking at the state of the vents it's got a thermal problem, but at least on this one, the case hasn't melted, so even if it doesn't work, I can replace th...

Re: Woo hoo - Collection Completed!! TRS-80 inbound
And the TRS is back together and running fine with 16KB of RAM and a new sound system
And according the the tracking, the QI should arrive tomorrow, but I'll believe it when I see it. Better than the original delivery estimate of 22nd December

Re: ACORN A5000 inbound
@rubber_jonnie Seems the AMX ball is the same crap when looking at Chris's Acorn website, but a bit darker. I wonder if a steel ball would work in your mouse, like in the BBC stuff: https://chrisacorns.computinghistory.org.uk/8bit_Upgrades/AMX_Mouse.html The only problem is to find the right diamet...

Re: ACORN A5000 inbound
@rubber_jonnie The other mouse you have is a "Type 1" according to Chris's Acorns: http://chrisacorns.computinghistory.org.uk/32bit_UpgradesA2G/Acorn_Archimedes_mouse.html This one has a really weird ball, which seems prone to disintegration... Just check below: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1...

Re: ACORN A5000 inbound
I have an M-PF7 from Logitech which I use with the A5000 and the ball is too big for the Acorn mouse, and I've tried a number of period mice. from generic types to branded, including period Apple mice, and all are too big. The Acorn mouse is oddly made in Switzerland, so I call it the 'Swiss Cheese...

Re: Whoops I did it again - Sega Saturn inbound
Don't put too much effort into trying to find it, whilst I appreciate the offer I don't think I could do much with it.
Cheers

New PSU is ordered for the Saturn, fingers crossed it'll do the trick.
