Re: Who is Foxie ?

Yes, name is cool. Maybe it is actually Fox Mulder ? My point is that I wrote about it - that wasted RAM area even at AF, couple times. And yet, there is discussion about it, and as I see, no some progress. Programmers of FTL discovered it 30 years ago. At AF some should discover search functi...

Who is Foxie ?

Strange coincidence or something else: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=32915 ?
Started same day as my thread TOS mods for more free RAM :D
And I just can smile on how inefficient is all talk at AF. All it is already discovered, talked about it ...

Re: Steem site vanished ?!

I don't think that he will now abandon Steem SSE further development. And that someone other take it over - that's not so simple. Would take months to just understand what he did, how, why ... And of course, nobody prevent anyone to make self own Steem further development, another branch. I did myse...

Re: TOS mods for more free RAM

Here is test v. for new floppy image concept: RAWI10M.ZIP This is same TOS 1.04 mod as above, with added code for low level ACSI disk access. 10 MB image is supplied . Instead as Floppy Image Runner works by holding floppy images in RAM, what means practically that min RAM is 2MB, this new system st...

Re: AES 3.4 into Tos 2.06/3.06

I just can't believe that Falcon AES can fit in TOS 2.06 space - it is 512KB vs. 256KB total ROM space. I'm afraid that there is some mistake made by someone. Probably just some parts of Falcon AES, Desktop. As Gembench says "Don't believe everything you see" :D

Re: AES 3.4 into Tos 2.06/3.06

TOS 2.06 is in 256KB space, while 3.xx and 4.xx are in 512KB. So, I don't think that Falcon AES can fit in 2.06, or better said in 256 KB. Of course, we can enlarge ROM space in ST machines, and even in STE ones, to 512KB, but that is not 'into 2.06' . And I would ask for that Falcon AES code - wher...

Re: Steem site vanished ?!

This is just ridiculous. Although, I must say that I'm not much surprised. I seen Steven Seagal to be too sensitive about some comments about (partially) his SW. And Steem site is still on: http://steem.atari.st/ :D Should talk here about Steem SSE site, just to be precise. Now, I'm who got zillion ...

Re: TOS mods for more free RAM

This is new, so I can change version number now without problems. NVDI is too demanding - I don't want something RAM hungry in project called 'more free RAM' :D Disassembled partially Warp, late version - it supports 68010 for sure, I guess 68030 too, but all it is pretty hard to follow, and some fu...

Re: TOS mods for more free RAM

I tried TOS214 with GB6 latest build , all tests work, but I get a crash on RAM test, no idea why ? 2 bombs.. The reason is that you use Mxalloc function, while this is not true TOS 2.xx - GEMDOS is from TOS 1.04 - that's is what makes it more compatible with SW. Maybe I should change TOS version c...

Re: TOS after 32 years - what could be done better ?

Well, nice long list :D Thank you for it, but really should not spend so much time with it. 1-2 would be enough. This basically confirms what I think: official Atari docs are not detailed enough. Programmers were often in situation to figure out solutions self. So was it with usage of VDI - some sol...
