This also means you'll have to use smt cpu, and thus probably sell the boosters with cpu presoldered as not everyone is skillfull enough to do it or have appropriate tools.

if it's an FDM printer, then supports are indeed needed. With a stereo lithography printer, probably no supports or only minimal. There is still support for other CF cards, but then must use PIO mode of card and single byte mode of ACSI, and that's 5-6x slower.
