Re: 68HC000 not perfectly 68000 compatible (!)
The HC isn't stable on a ST unless you change the bus pullups. So it's not a fair test unless some "background work" is done first. So if you just "drop in" a HC and expect it to work, it won't. That's good info - but that kind of instability is not what I see in the video. The ...

Re: 68HC000 not perfectly 68000 compatible (!)
Hey always meant to ask you, (on a hopefully relevant close topic); does Closure work properly on the Mega ST? I believe my Mega 4 runs ok, but it doesnt like the demo (various screen corruption issues). It does - but there are machines where the new kind of fullscreen lines I use show severe Shift...

False alarm! Was: 68HC000 not perfectly 68000 compatible
edit: This turned out to be a hardware problem on the datalines on this particular STE. Once corrected the HC worked perfectly in Closure again. We're back to there sometimes being reports of incompatibilities but on investigation it turns out to not be the CPU. Post as it was follows: *** I've just...

Re: TOS 1.4 disassembly project
Sources are complete now. Have to do a bit of cleanup, and add some readme, but other than that i consider it finished. This is amazing - thank you! Don't worry about the interest - it's high - but the old Atari scene isn't synchronous ;) I predict this will be very very worthwhile for the ST remak...

Re: Small batch of AJAX chips in EU
Yeah send address in PM and we'll sort everything else out from there I had hoped I would be able to fit one into my own MSTE as soon as I got them but I'm not getting the time it seems. I'm sure they're all ok though, else I will swap them.

Re: 1.44MB HD7 media change wiring w/Epson 340
Just so that we're clear on the workings. HD mods work "backwards" from how Atari implemented it*, sort of. We use the fact that the drive signals whether it has an HD or DD disk inserted, and route that signal to the HD mod PCB. The floppy cable isn't involved - you just wire the pin you ...

Re: Suggested value and interest STbook
Thanks.
Question for those who know: Is the STbook PCB 2 or 4 layer?
There are indeed some repairs needed. If 2-layer, I'm still interested though, with the intention to get it back up running.

Re: Mega 4 two chip TOS with no 74LS11
Thank you Troed, although I am not aware of what that does. I'm quite confident it's a TOS 2.06 mod (it can DTACK) - although it has a lot of unnecessary connections for one. I still wonder if it does something else too - but for your purposes it's not important. On this forum we both help as well ...
