Re: Mega 4 two chip TOS with no 74LS11

exxos' hunch is likely correct - an "advanced" TOS 2.06 decoder. Pasting in my FB comment: Def. a TOS switch of sorts. "New TOS" or "Old 2 chip" / "Old 6 chip". It's picking up ROM2 from the G19 connection to GLUE. However, there's more involved that I'm not s...

Re: Suggested value and interest STbook

A German ST Book just went for 1153 EUR on eBay (yeah I was outbid). It was sold as for parts/non working but from the description seemed just to be the seller not having any way of powering it. Otherwise it looked to be in great condition.

(Congrats to whomever sniped me ;))

Ofc pictures - and there will be interest regardless of condition. "Just" the price that will be affected ;)

Re: STE video chip

And as I thought, it has strange video issues! It does not happen with the C300588 . Interesting. The jump/blue-yellow issue is due to mismatch in timings between MMU and Shifter. The one-pixel distortions in the second part looks very much like what I had with the doubleST (overclocking the Shifte...

Re: 4mb upgrade possible on this 1040 STFM?

Thank you. I think that I can do that. I need this! Desoldering the old RAM chips is a _lot_ of work. I would be hesitant to do it with just a solder sucker, esp. if you haven't done it a lot already. My first choice is a proper desoldering gun, and the second (much more risky) is a hot air station...

Re: Problem with FPU 68882

13 Bombs
Coprocessor Protocol Violation. A read of the FPU has rersulted in a illegal value
https://mikrosk.github.io/doitarchive/doit_st/1905.htm

I interpret this not as wrong _value_ (calculation) but garbled data that doesn't follow the protocol between CPU and FPU.

Re: Problem with FPU 68882

It would be my guess that a 68881 has a differient pal that the 68882. Just a guess.. When I put a 68882 in my MSTE from Exxos it needed a pal. Don't know about a falcon.. The MSTE needs one for FPU or no FPU - but that's very different from the Falcon going from one FPU to another. Also they're ad...

Re: Small batch of AJAX chips in EU

They've finally arrived after having taken interesting postal routes. They did so the day before I went on a two week vacation to southern Europe though so I won't be able to test or send any until two weeks from now though. Sorry. I have one more available besides the already claimed. regards, Troed

Re: WANTED MegaST 68881 copro board C103067 / SPF004

Arne write a FPU Emulator so you can use DML FPU Test Soft with Mega STE or Atari SFP004 ... https://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=40516&p=422081&hilit=fpu+emulator#p422081 Write or found - but in anycase - that's awesome! I will look at that when I'm working on my MSTE next time...

Re: WANTED MegaST 68881 copro board C103067 / SPF004

How do you know its not working ? You also need custom libs and code as the FPU io mapped isn't normally compatible with linef 030 instructions. Its why GB6 doesn't support io mapped as nobody ever uses io mapped. I know I found a benchmark program that could do I/O mapped FPU when I added one to m...
