Re: Sidequest: VGA scan doubler

Thanks beel1. Out of curiosity are there enough free IOs on the V2 to handle a 4th bit per channel? (for STEs, even if I know that instead of piggybacking the Shifter, that would require to solder everything from the mainboard) :D Probably, but I didn't wire it up that way. The RAMs are 16 bits wide...

Re: Modified TOS to remove resolutions limitation

Good to see you Troed!

With the doubleST, I think you rely on an AUTO utility to update the GEM screen parameters, right? You may want to do a further mod and update those in the ROM. I can tell you where they are.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics of your epic workshop :D

I've just sent off the boards order for prototype version 2 of this mod, so keep your fingers crossed for me! 8-)

Re: Smonson's slow H4 build

Hmm, I should have taken a photo of it before I started. Basically the pins were all bent inwards towards the centre. The pins themselves seem to be made from slightly thinner sheet metal than normal, too. I've bent them all up, but the problem with doing that is that it causes them to be slightly S...

Re: Smonson's slow H4 build

Geez, those 6850s are next to impossible to get out with a manual solder sucker. Dunno if all STs are similar but all the pins on my donor board were folded down pretty much flat before soldering. If I ever manage to get mine out I'll probably have killed them from the heat exposure.

Re: Hello from Sunny Queensland Australia

Nearly tread on a brown snake on my way there last night, talk about a heart stopper , only about a 15 meter walk from the house to the shed along a concrete path, the thing was at the bottom of the house steps and was in no rush to get out of the way. Can you leave me some STs in you...

Wasn't the wobble down to that clock issue from wayyyyy back ? I'm not at home for a couple of days so can't test mine out :(
Thanks Exxos! Yeah, I hope the wobble is just clock noise, at least we have a solution to that :D
