Re: STE V1.5 32MHz BOOSTER - STATUS

Not sure why it would happen but can only assume oxydisation on the pin over the years, not that we can see it on the photo. Does not appear to be any tarnishing or oxidisation from what I can see. Could it be that the cpu and pcb flexed under the sudden application of heat? Reading the instruction...

Re: STE V1.5 32MHz BOOSTER - STATUS

Had a thought to check the CPU I was having issues under my microscope.. And look what I found.. Capture.JPG Basically two pins have not had any solder on them. I don't know why as each pad on the PCB had paste, and I even checked under a magnifier that each pin was sitting in paste.. But the some r...

.. So if I decided to get the dual tos board and the 32hz mod would I need anything else first?? Or would I be better doing something else too??
PSU re-cap is good idea first, higher speeds need more stable PSU.

Re: List of planned upgrades.. Plus recasing....

I think AlanH was the one who mention this on AF. He said he surprised it worked, I never looked into it myself, just saying what was said there last year or so.

I've removed you from moderated users :)

Actually someone did try TOS104 on a STE last year and said it worked.. pointless as the STE Extra hardware would not work, but proved a point I guess.

Re: Exxos PSU + CT2B Falcon

This must have to do with the fact they hadn't planned using the 68030 and keeping the 68000 until the last minute. It does look like a 68000 based system just with a 030 slapped on the bus without any other changes. Could be any number of reasons. Though maybe the 68000 couldn't clock reliable at ...

I recently ran GemBench... is my STE doing ok???
You need to load in a STE benchmark file as your comparing a ST to STE there. See the readme file with GB6 for more info.
