Re: RESET circuit tweaks

While I was looking the MEGA ST circuit, I noticed the reset circuit used a different chip than the normal 555.. What really caught my attention was that it wasn't using a inverter on the output.. As I want to reduce the amount of parts and do away with most of the inverters if possible.. This would...

Re: Testing the blitter

I cannot see anything wrong anywhere.. I have used the MEGA ST4 diagram to get the connections as it seems there are no jumper links in the mix on that machine.. Tracing that with my diagram both look the same to me..

Re: DMA port "update" ideas..

I have just ordered a internal and external version with the MEGA ST adapter kit..

Early xmas prezzies for me :excited:

Once I get them, I can start plotting where the best location would be to mount the connector and fixing holes etc..

He already has an internal UltraSatan:
Even better! That can't fit vertically in the DMA header though surely ?

EDIT:
Never mind.

Think I will have to get one of those and see where it could be located on the STF board with a suitable adapter.

I cannot find anything wrong the diagram currently... I will keep checking..

There is BGO pin 45 of the GLUE where it is not connected to anything.. But I cannot see anywhere it goes currently...

EDIT:
Nowhere it seems... Checked on a few diagrams..

Testing the blitter

Long story short, it didn't work. :( I tested the blitter in my STFM, and it works. In the STF I just get a totally black screen. I took the blitter out and reconnected the jumpers, and the machine still works fine. So no damage to be happening anywhere to the blitter or glue. I retested the blitter...

Re: DMA port "update" ideas..

I'll give it a go tomorrow night - just been checking at what speed Gigafile can run at. Its supposed have max transfer rates at 1800Kbps read and 1200Kbps write and an using it with an original Atari ST is supposed to be 1200Kbps read and 1000Kbps write. So I should be able to detect improvement i...
