Re: Oops, my obsession with computers from my childhood strikes again!
I’ve got one, I’ll try it later. I have all sorts of colour behaviour depending on which display I plug it into, examples: Late 80s Sony CRT: everything works fine Mid 90s Panasonic CRT: colour doesn’t come in until ~1sec after the graphics appear (e.g when you change screens on Prince of Persia th...

Re: Oops, my obsession with computers from my childhood strikes again!
Interesting, when I check pin 4 with the TCA 650 removed, I get 5v. With it fitted it's half that, so I'm now wondering if the TCA 650 is marginal and pulling it down. Pin 14 is 5v too, which doesn't make sense based on the schematic I have, however it does make some sense if you read that the pin 4...

Re: Help with 4mb ram upgrade on 520ST C070243 REV. B
llanquin Ok, so based on the instructions for the STFM, you need to lift R59, R60 and R61 on the MMU end and tie to 5v. The mappings are as follows: R59 - RAS0 - MMU pin 8 R60 - CAS0L - MMU pin 7 R61 - CAS0H - MMU pin 6 So taking this through to the the 520ST schematic we get the following mappings...

Re: General Stuff(tm)
Playing with the Sinclair QL this weekend, initially making a set of floppy images and FlashFloppy set-up for Neil from RMC so that he can demonstrate the machine in an up-coming video, but then being inspired to try out the BASIC fractal benchmark code from this week's "Adrian's Digital Basem...

Re: Atari 520ST first model, stolen or lost during shipping
As a final note : the transporter (Mondial relay) could only confirm the loss of the original parcel. I followed the ebay procedure and got a refund from ebay. Can an administrator change the title of this thread into "Atari 520ST first model, stolen or lost during shipping" ? Thanks in a...

Re: Oops, my obsession with computers from my childhood strikes again!
Hmm, a bit of 'burn in' later and the RAM II/E card has disappeared again :( I did give it all a damn good clean and it keeps coming and going, and I feel like it could well be a power issue when you also consider the video issues. I'll see about giving the PSU a service. On another note, Adrians Di...
