And great that you’ve done a history for the machine you’ve repaired. I like to do that too sometimes. At least little hints here and there.
Yeah, apparently 7 hour drive round trip.
Bit of a hike, no wonder your weekends are busy!

Not yet, but I'll try it at some point in the near future.

Re: General Stuff(tm)

More shenanigans with the Kaypro drives this morning. Drive B's motor decided to run full speed whatever I did, even replacing the LM2917 on the servo control board. I'd already reflowed the solder on the connector, which had cracks. So it was a case of buzzing out traces. Found that an old bodge t...

Re: A Grand Day Out

PhilC wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 2:59 pm @rubber_jonnie you can get a Lumafix for a C128. It’s a pain to set up but can improve the jail bars no end.
I think you sent me a Lumafix PCB, but it may have been just for the C64, not sure.

I'll go and see if I can find one :)

Re: A Grand Day Out

So, some more C128 love today. I pulled the remaining single wipe sockets and replaced with dual wipe. Old sockets shown to the rear of the board. IMG20240224114137.jpg The desolder gun did an epic job as once I'd desoldered, three of the sockets dropped out before I could flip the board back over, ...

PhilC wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 10:53 am I always wondered about those old Altairs. I’ll be looking on with interest to see what can be done with one.

Maybe one day I might even buy my own kit.
I'll get lots of pics when it comes so you can see what it's all about :)

Re: Stuff and Things.

Those Altairs are early, use a terminal and may have Microsoft BASIC (if you're lucky?). :-) They make the Kaypro I'm working on look like science fiction fantasy future machines... well, except for the blinkenlights on the Altair. :-) So, @rubber_jonnie, when are you going to get the teletype term...

Re: Stuff and Things.

Well, I did a thing. Well, 2 things... First off I ordered a Yellowstone card for my Apple IIe from Big Mess o' Wires. I have been considering it for a little while and I think HigashiJun suggested it (Sorry if I'm remembering it wrong), but it will work very well with my FloppyEmu for both 5 1/4 an...

Re: Logging voltage

Will one of these do the jo for me please? Amazon link FalconUK When you post links, they need to be ideally enclosed with a 'link' (The chain icon in the editing tools) if they are long, otherwise the link is likely to break as yours did. I have fixed it, but with regards to wether it'll do it wou...
