Re: OSI 600D Superboard Build

stephen_usher HigashiJun Yeah, it's a real bind. My EPROMS are at least in the country and should hopefully be delivered tomorrow, but the RAM seems to be transported by Donkey and has a predicted arrival of 25th. The perils of AliExpress. I've sourced enough RAM from the UK to be able to test, but...

Depends when my parts arrive. I think I will have enough for initial configuration of the video circuit and a full power on test this week, but I won't have all the RAM for a couple of weeks I think, though hopefully enough for a basic test.

Re: OSI 600D Superboard Build

Well, that's the last of the ICs ordered, it's just a waiting game now. It's been a relatively expensive project, probably about £120 in components (Including what I've just ordered), another £40 for the PCB. In total, including the key caps, I'd suggest it's about £300 to build, so a little more to...

Re: General Stuff(tm)

A combination of myself (finding out that the Computer One OPD floppy interface blindly writes a string held in the ROM to the boot sector) along with Jobdone (from the QL Forum & Discord, who found the correct BPB parameters and hex edited the ROM) have got the One Per Desk now formatting flop...

Re: OSI 600D Superboard Build

I got round to running the initial tests, and also confirmed there are no shorts on the 5v rail, so feeling confident I added the ICs I have to the board, and also the keycaps, since I only have 5 resistors left to install, and that's all the soldering done: PXL_20240114_162252309.jpg Looking pretty...

Re: It's GDEMU time

After seeing your Saturn post I bought one of those replacement PSUs for my Saturn and got a Dreamcast one. As you say, pretty easy to fit. Yeah, they are proper 'drop in' replacements. What's interesting to me too, is that both the Saturn and the DC have a very similar structure, so mainboard at t...
