Re: My first TF536

BTW. Different SDcards take different times to boot even if they have the exact same image on them. What's doing that? With some SD cards I try it takes 20 seconds for it to start doing anything (led activity) while others are instant. Repeatable even when I reinstall freshly to the different cards....

Re: My first TF536

I built an IDE68k today for my A2000 and tried it in my A500+ first. Booting from SD is much quicker than with TF534 or 536. I built this: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/Amiga_IDE_68K_Replica.html Booting to WB with CF with my TF536 takes 17 seconds, which is pretty quick. I'll time the...

Re: My first TF536

Seriously though. There are no traces there, just ground and voltage planes, and they are easy to see at the cut edge. I will put a piece of kapton tape over the edge before I install the RF shield so that there's no chance the shield will touch the layers at the edge.

Re: My first TF536

I cut the corner of the TF536 so that the RF shield will fit. There's a capacitor on the bottom that prevented me from cutting further in but it fits after bending the leg on the shield slightly. I could move the cap over to the leg of the chip but this will do. Stephen if you want to make it so tha...

Re: Buffered IDE splitter on tf536...?

My cheap SD to IDE doesn't have a selector, but it runs as master, because when I set my CF adapter to slave it boots to the SD and sees the CF in workbench.

Re: My first TF536

Yes. I originally built that red RAM expansion for my A500, and when I got this A500+ I moved it over the the A500+ because it has room for another ram chip to give 1 MB extra chip ram. I then put another old school expansion that only could have 512 kB in my old A500. I omitted the motherboard batt...

Re: My first TF536

The TF536 has better compatibility with WHDLoad games than the TF534. All the games I couldn't get working before now work. Zeewolf 1 and 2, Joungle Strike 2MB version, F18 Interceptor would crash with TF534.

Re: Buffered IDE splitter on tf536...?

Two drives work for me on one long cable on a buffered TF536. I tried with my CF adapter as slave and it then booted to the SDcard on the sdcard adapter on the same cable.
