Re: TF536 boot problem

Check all the pins on the CPLD and level shifters for any side to side movement using a pin or fine tweezers under a microscope or loupe. If there are no visible solder bridges then some pins might not be soldered down correctly, pay special attention to the pins either side of the four corners of t...

Re: TF536 - Freeze on Disk Access?

I'm wondering if there is a problem with a filename? length or formatting of it? The file copy or compression process doesn't seem to fail on a particular file each time. Sometimes it completes all files successfully and when it does lock up it's not on the same file every time. It would be interes...

Re: TF536 - Freeze on Disk Access?

alenppc I've rolled the firmware back to an older stable version that was posted here https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=2600&p=41734&hilit=tf536r2#p41739 https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/download/file.php?id=12059 and tested again with the same results. The Amiga locks up ever...

Re: TF536 - Freeze on Disk Access?

Cheers. I'll dig out and set up my revision 5 A500 motherboard tomorrow and see if the behaviour is the same. I am using Micron memory chips on the 536 and don't have any of the Samsungs to test unfortunately, but will leave that avenue for now. I'm running some compression tests as suggested above ...

Re: TF536 - Freeze on Disk Access?

lilwashu alenppc This does sound very similar to issues I've been having this week. The 536s are ostensibly fine with booting, WHDload games, demo loops, and all memory tests check out but copying large numbers of files either between partitions or within the same partition cause the machine to loc...

Wow! Hopefully You was prepared to see fireworks on power on, since these are four-layer boards. Cutting them may short out GND and VCC inner layers..
Where's your sense of adventure??

Re: Openflops floppy emulator

It's not a copied gotek. They silkscreened it because they produced it. So it has the same form factor, dimensions and mount holes as a Gotek, the same component layout as a Gotek, can run the same firmware as the Gotek and is based off the schematic from the Gotek, but it's not a copied Gotek? Wha...

Re: Openflops floppy emulator

If anyone knows more about who actually 'owns' the Gotek design then it would be interesting to hear....? At a guess this lot . Well if Gotekemulator did indeed design it, as their 'About Us' page alludes to, and they're clearly still selling it, then creating an Open Source version seems a bit dub...

Re: Openflops floppy emulator

That looks suspiciously like a 're-branded' version of https://github.com/SukkoPera/OpenFlops with no mention in the listing of where it came from, although I do see his name on the board silkscreen. I have no idea what the license situation is in terms of the 'real?' Gotek boards, if such a thing e...
