Re: Hi from Holland

You're lucky to find an SC1224 I never ever manged to find one in the last 10 years Yeah, I know, I got really lucky. It was incredibly dirty when I got it but after cleaning it thoroughly, the screen AND the picture turned out to be spotless! The logo still had the original protective sticker on i...

Hi from Holland

After discovering this forum and posting to it over a period of a few weeks, I finally discovered this topic :P So, I'm Sandor Drieënhuizen, I'm 42 and I used to have an ST (and a Falcon after that) when I was a kid. My dad got me one when I was 11 because I already had a synthesizer with MIDI capab...

Quickshot QS-130F joystick repair

So I bought a little gift for a dear friend the other day. He recently got himself an ST after living without one for many years so I wanted to surprise him with this Quickshot QS-130F which I stumbled upon when I visited a retro gaming collector whom I recently got acquainted with. The reason I got...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

Ran out of time today but I managed to add the rear panels to the original model (need to add 3 more holes though). Posted a picture just to make discussion easier. Untitled.png I hope I'll have time to do a simple 3D printing design tomorrow, which of course I will post here. I'm planning to (based...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

I think that we at least need a few bars (possibly with a large cross in the center) to give the thing enough rigidity. I don't think a few loose legs that get screwed to the PSU directly will provide enough rigidity. The suggestion to put the nut on the bottom instead of the top of the post is exce...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

By the way, I was thinking to change the main surface into a kind of beehive hexagon pattern surface with openings, to save filament and gain maximum structural strength. Perhaps it'll even aid cooling. Bee_pattern.png One thing I was wondering about was the shielding function of the original bracke...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

Just did a quick sketch of how I think a stronger leg could look like. I'm trying to take into account that there are parts underneath the bracket (perhaps even add-ons). I still have to check my ST how much space around the PSU we could additionally claim. I'm not sure if this is anything close to ...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

That looks awesome! My printer bed is 22cmx28cm.. but still trying to get it working right  Hopefully have some time friday... That's great, I could send you the STL file so you can try it out. I might print it myself as well, just in parts which should be okay for testing. Don't know when I ...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

I've started do draw the existing bracket, as a starting point for the modifications. I also think it's easier to discuss with detailed pictures at hand. The only thing missing in the current drawing is the four standing pieces to which the power connector and switch are connected. I'll add those so...

Re: PSU bracket remake ?

I just measured the plate itself being 12cm x 12cm which is EXACTLY the same as the printing limits of my 3D printer. That is, excluding the legs, which extend a little outwards. So, I could draw the thing and print a prototype, no problem. But, it will not be in one piece, the legs will have to be ...
