Neo Geo - Of the Pocket variety

I've always liked the look of the Neo Geo Pocket Colour, and being a handheld fan I decided it was time to have one join my collection: IMG20240327132546.jpg It came in the box, which was nice and I've picked up a RetroHQ SD cart solution, which is great because I can flash multiple games and easily...

Re: Stuff and Things.

And to add to the story of the workbench magnifier light, parts came today, but it didn't fix it, so I checked the two main caps just to see what was what. Turned out the cap that I found with a loose leg, was no longer 10uF: IMG20240327132238.jpg So I've ordered some caps, but if that doesn't work,...

Re: General Stuff(tm)

Well, I couldn't get any contractors to turn up next week, they all seem to be going on holiday, so I've cancelled my trip and my leave. There's no point taking time off if I need to use it later in the year. Still, it means that I'll be around for the deliveries. That's a bit of a pain to say the ...

@Icky

Yes, I remember that one well!

Looking at Astrowars, the one I'm thinking of is very similar, but narrower. Will have to try and find a pic.

I've certainly seen 1&3 but not 2, and the posts for Megas are different again.

Re: Icky made me do it - TRS-80 CoCo

One final item completed before reassembling the CoCo:

A coat of solder mask over the exposed parts:

All good to go now and the CoCo is reassembled.

However, I'll be down in Cornwall next week to deal with work on my Dad's house.
Hope that all goes smoothly for you, It's a difficult thing sorting out and selling a property at a distance.

Re: Icky made me do it - TRS-80 CoCo

So in order to get the Coco working with the CoCoSDC, I needed to add Extended BASIC to my CoCo. That meant filling this socket: IMG20240325221232.jpg It's right next to the standard BASIC ROM. I used this guide: IMG20240325192527.jpg And built the 2364 to 27128 adapter, though I ended up using a 27...

Indeed, and potentially put a label on my bench PSU reminding me to check voltages before turning power on. There may already be a Zener in there, need to double check.

Re: OSI 600D Superboard Build

I'll say. Just wondering if I powered on with the wrong voltage at some point, as an LS00 for the video circuit died this morning as well, and that is too many to be a coincidence. Just need to jump this last flickery video keyboard issue and it should be good. Been a bit of a marathon for sure. * ...
