Re: C103414 - STFM 4 x SMT DRAM
I like the idea that it's a Friday afternoon workaround because they got higher capacity RAM chips :D it would seen originally they were pads the resistors later were bridged over the tracks on the PCB, and the original holes just not removed.. I would assume this board came out after the 32 chip R...

Re: Suska board
oooooh .... shiny ! ! :D :lolbig: So far I am not really having much luck :( I was trying with my normal monitor with the RGB port and the best I could get was a really out of sync image. So I plugged in my multisync monitor and I just said no signal detected. I was messing about for about two hour...

Re: BLITTER RE-CREATION THOUGHTS
BLiTTER in FPGA? Really cool idea, I second that. Would be cool to add one feature - hardware C2P conversion. Now, a standard C2P - chunky160x100 to 4-bitplane 320x200 can take up to 480 000 cycles. With 160 000 cycles per frame it is 3 frames. With the BLiTTER speed it could take advantage of copy...

Re: BLITTER RE-CREATION THOUGHTS
You couldn't get it to work on the Cyclone-II? The EP2C5s I used for the shifter are only $25 each, and they should have way more LEs and pins than you need, and they're not BGA. Although they are fairly large. I went for the cheapest 3.3V one which would work. No use going for a larger more expens...

Re: C103414 - STFM 4 x SMT DRAM
What is that empty section to the right of the empty bank, with the large cap to the top right? No idea... Looks like a bunch of pointless jumper tracks which basically jump over section of other track doesn't go to anything  looks like we got a bit of a mystery.. Maybe it was just left over...

Re: Has anyone thought of recreating the Milan
Yes, I did. I talked to the guy some years ago about recreating the machine. I asked about what would be involved in releasing the board again, even obtaining all the schematics and codes to improve on it, or possible licensing agreements to produce it. I never got a reply to those questions. But th...

Re: TT/Mega STE power supply headaches
That's interesting as my TT always powered up in less than a second from brand new. It was *click* (about half a second) wurrr. Be interesting if you could change C8 for a newer capacitor and see what the startup time is then. The one I had took about 4 seconds to turn on, its why I lowered the val...

Re: new PSUs in my Falcon causes video output to fail
Thanks for letting us know!
Out of interest, how long does actually take after turn on for the video to appear ? My 2 Falcons it takes three or four seconds before it comes out of reset..

Re: Suska board
Cheers Chris for all the investment you're doing into our community :) :thanksyellow: I'll second that :) so cool to see this happening, much of what Chris wants to achieve very much echoes what I would have wanted to see within a new ST motherboard too. But this time, hopefully a really rock solid...
